It’s finally happened, Perodua has managed to produce its one millionth Myvi, just 12 years after the model was first introduced in May 2005.
“The Perodua Myvi has set a new standard for us in terms of products offerings as well as customer expectations and it is our benchmark for all our future models,” said Perodua president and CEO, Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh.
To mark the momentous milestone, Perodua held a special line-off ceremony for the Electric Blue-painted Myvi, which was officiated by Perodua Auto Corporation (PCSB) president Masanori Takahashi and PCSB vice president Datuk Zainal Abidin Ahmad.
According to Perodua, 35,400 of the one million units have been exported to markets outside Malaysia since 2006. These include Mauritius, Brunei, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Fiji, Nepal and Indonesia, with the last being Perodua’s biggest export market with nearly 31,000 units (known as the Daihatsu Sirion there).
