Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has introduced another C292 GLE Coupe variant in the country with the arrival of the Mercedes-AMG GLE 43 4Matic Coupe, the announcement of the variant being made at the introduction of the GLC 200 in Kota Kinabalu today.
The GLE Coupe was launched here in January 2016, and the particular 43 variant is new to the scene locally, the vehicle available in GLE 400 and GLE 450 AMG form when introduced. It also happens to come in special edition form, showing up as an OrangeArt Edition, which was unveiled globally in June this year.
This dresses up the model-specific exterior enhancements, these being orange decals on the front apron and the same shade adorning the rim flange on the unit’s 21-inch AMG five twin-spoke, high-gloss black alloy wheels.
The interior features black nappa leather/Dinamica microfibre upholstery with orange piping and grey topstitching, the trim being exclusive to the edition. Orange piping is also to be found on the unit’s AMG floor mats, and the variant’s door centre panels are also finished in black Dinamica microfibre and grey topstitching.
The edition also comes kitted out with an AMG Line exterior and interior as well as a Night package, and its Intelligent Light System headlamps feature a black LED ring.
Other standard fit items include an Airmatic suspension with Adaptive Damping System Plus, Dynamic Select, a three-spoke AMG sports steering wheel in black Nappa leater and AMG carbon-fibre/black piano lacquer trim, complete with an upper dashboard finished in Artico leather. There’s also Comand Online and a Harman Kardon Logic 7 surround sound system, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.
Like the rest of the AMG 43 model range available here (C43 Sedan, C43 Coupe, E 43, GLC 43, GLC 43 Coupe and SLC 43), the GLE 43 Coupe is powered by a 3.0 litre biturbo V6, the M276 DELA 30 offering 384 hp (or 390 PS) and 520 Nm in this application, and it’s paired with a 9G-Tronic nine-speed auto transmission. Performance figures include a 0-100 km/h time of 5.7 seconds and a 250 km/h top speed.
Six exterior finishes are available for the GLE 43 4Matic Coupe OrangeArt Edition, and these are black, polar white, obsidian black, iridium silver, selenite grey or designo diamond white bright. The model will be available in limited numbers, and is priced at RM718,888 on-the-road without insurance.

Externally the GLE is as nice as any latest Mercedes product. It looks nice and lovely.
Inside however, it is bloody unforgivable to be equipped with such a dated dashboard like that. Might as well go for a smaller GLC.
It’s time for MBM to quote OTR prices excluding gomen duties.
That will make Benzes more cheaper and reduce the exclusivity. Better for them maintain the high keras pricing. It ties with their brand prestige.
Sure Ferrari less exclusivity & brand prestige. Naza Italia new launched Ferrari quote prices excluding duty. Wondering why?
just an orange stripe…can just go taobao buy some orange 3d reflection tape all over
In Malaysia road, we only see X5, XC90 and the recon Cayenne. The GLE is a rare species!
Anything that is rare makes the vehicle stand out in a crowd especially when its expensive.
I guess that is why they have the Dinamica microfibre upholstery with ORANGE piping, ORANGE decals on the front apron & ORANGE shade adorning the rim flange on the unit’s 21-inch AMG five twin-spoke.
Whether it is acceptable to U/me is immaterial because U/me cannot afford one of this.
Volvo XC90 > all
This no good. Waiting for Sunkist edition :P
