At this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, McLaren will reveal a new addition to its model line-up, which is being teased in these images here. According to the British carmaker, the unnamed car will be the fifth new model to be announced under its Track22 business plan.
Based on the images, the car appears to be a hardcore version of the 570S with a lot more use of carbon-fibre as well as top-exit exhausts. These will expel gases produced by the car’s engine, which is another mystery that needs to be resolved.
McLaren says its new model “will benefit from increased power, minimised weight, optimised aerodynamics and enhanced driver engagement.” It also adds that there will be a limited number of units available, just like the Senna.
Based on this information, the new model will likely not use the 570 moniker, as is the case with the 570S, 570S Spider and 570GT. This is because the figure relates to the engine output and McLaren says this has more. All will be revealed towards the end of June when the model makes its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
