Commemorating Yamaha’s long history of MotoGP and Grand Prix championships is the 2018 Yamaha NVX 155 GP Edition, which retails for RM10,606. Also available at authorised Hong Leong Yamaha dealers is the base model Yamaha NVX 155, which can be had at a price of RM9,906.
The NVX 155 is a sporty take on the Yamaha NMax 155 scooter, with its 155 cc engine rated at 14.8 hp at 8,000 rpm and 14.4 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. The liquid-cooled, single-cylinder SOHC mill comes with variable valve actuation (VVA) and power is transmitted via a CVT gearbox.
Coming with front ABS as standard, the NVX 155 features an LCD instrument panel in the cockpit and also has keyless start. A 25-litre storage compartment can be found under the seat, along with a USB charging port for the rider’s electronics.
Other rider conveniences include remote opening for the fuel door and seat. Suspension is with telescopic fork in front and twin preload-adjustable shock absorbers in the back.
Rolling on 14-inch wheels, the 2018 Yamaha NVX 155 GP Edition does braking with a single hydraulic disc, front and drum at the rear. Availability of the NVX 155 GP Edition from Hong Leong Yamaha Malaysia authorised dealers is before the end of September and purchasers will receive an exclusive NVX GP Edition riding jacket and certificate of ownership.
