BMW Group Malaysia, together with Tian Siang Premium Auto, launched four new i Wallbox charging stations in the northern region recently, with two being located at The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat, Ipoh, and two more at Iconic Hotel, Penang.
“The new BMW i charging facilities are another step forward for us in fulfilling our commitment to electro-mobility in the country. BMW Group Malaysia has delivered close to 10,000 vehicles year-to-date, with BMW iPerformance vehicles, accounting for 56% of total deliveries,” said Raymond Tan, head of sales at BMW Group Malaysia.
“Globally, Malaysia is among the top three markets for BMW plug-in hybrid vehicles deliveries. To facilitate our vision for Future Mobility, we will continuously expand the accessibility of charging facilities to our customers, particularly through our network of authorised dealerships,” he added.
“Year-to-date, we have delivered over 300 BMW vehicles in Perak and over 400 in Penang, of which 64% and 59% respectively are comprised of BMW iPerformance vehicles. With the robust adoption of electro-mobility among our customers, we are excited to be developing more charging infrastructure together with our premium partners in this region,” commented Tan Ka Kin, managing director of Tian Siang Premium Auto.
The new charging facilities join a network of other BMW i charging facilities found in WEIL Hotel, Ipoh, as well as Holiday Inn Melaka and The Equatorial Melaka, and at CityONE Megamall Kuching.

Can someone enlighten … What happens if you don’t charge … Will you lose half the power of the car ? So troublesome to charge it every night
No battery power means EV not function means underpower means selow poke response.
This is a reason why BMW expand its charging network in the northern region and not in the eastern region.
That means Perak and Penang are more economically developed than Kelantan and Terengganu.
petrol stations should invest to setup electric charging stations alongside their existing fuel pumps, especially at NSE locations. of course they can charge a reasonable fee to users.
This is useless. Weil Hotel u need to pay RM5 per hr for the parking to get inside. Imagine RM5 per hour you better charge it at home.
Banjaran Hot Spring Ipoh, how you going to get in there? Got thru a guard and tell them u get inside for charging? Banjaran Hot spring is out of Ipoh town a bit, who is going there to charge it?
