Mitsubishi Engelberg Tourer teased for Geneva debut

Mitsubishi has announced that it will unveil a new electric vehicle concept at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, which it is calling the Engelberg Tourer. The name, as the company explains, points to “a beautiful and rugged Alpine town with a history of sporting success.”

There’s also a teaser image, as you’d expect, which reveals a rugged-looking SUV that features a further development of the company’s Dynamic Shield face. Displayed prominently is the rather large grille, which is cordoned off from the slim headlamps and fog lamp-signal lamp clusters by a blue LED light strip.

Roof-mounted lights provide further illumination, which hints at a machine that can do the rally run if need be. Other details that can be seen from this angle include side cameras to replace conventional side mirrors, as well as a lower apron guard.

Mitsubishi’s previous electric SUV efforts include the e-Evolution Concept that debuted in 2017, and the eX Concept before that. Whether the company’s new creation is an evolution of either show cars or something new entirely, we’ll have to wait and see.

They could’ve named it Hamtaro but that would be too obvious.

Mitsubishi also make use of slave labour. I don’t feel pity we weren’t involved with such a despicable act.
