BMW Malaysia has begun accepting bookings for the new G15 8 Series, which was first unveiled back in June last year. Based on the dedicated website set up by the company, it’ll cost you RM5,000 to register your interest but it isn’t stated what variant will be offered nor how much the total cost will be.
For now, only two variants of the 8 Series is being offered in other markets. The first is the 840d xDrive that packs a 3.0 litre twin-turbo straight-six diesel engine with 320 PS and 680 Nm of torque. Important figures include a zero to 100 km/h time of 4.9 seconds, plus a combined fuel consumption of between 5.9-6.2 litres per 100 km.
The other option comes in the form of the M850i xDrive, which packs an upgraded version of the M550i‘s 4.4 litre biturbo petrol V8. The mill churns out 530 PS and 750 Nm, allowing for a quicker century sprint time of 3.7 seconds.
Both engines come with an eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission by default, along with the brand’s proprietary all-wheel drive system. If we had to guess, the petrol variant is the most likely to come our way.
The 8 Series was first previewed by the similarly-named Concept 8 Series that made a stop in Kuala Lumpur last year. A grand tourer in every sense of the term, the model combines sporty dynamics with a plush cabin, the latter also containing the latest BMW technologies like OS 7.0 and Live Cockpit Professional.
Intrigued? Well, you can now register your interest and place your booking at BMW Malaysia’s dedicated website. Now, let’s all try and guess how much BMW’s flagship luxury coupe will cost.

Such a beautiful car. This is true German engineering where German workers work hard in improving their quality as opposed to sembang and goyang kaki in opis.
I am impressed.
By the way, to those who knew the old 8 series, it has become a collector item now. Some of them are going for RM1 million even. Car is 20 years old also can command RM1 mil price tag
Those who works hard, come out with this beautiful 8 series. Those who sembang and goyang kaki in opis, rebadges hard working BMW’s Z4.
Das G15 8series comes with external combustion engine in spontaneous mode?
Wherever you get that old 8-series worth up to RM1 mil, it’s bullshit. A pristine 850 CSI (the V12 ones) won’t even reach half that. Another “fact” you pulled out your behind?
M850i atleast 800k?ckd a 830i at 580k pls
in yo dreams la
They don’t have an 830i yet. Not even sure if they will have one
Guess this BMW’s flagship luxury coupe will cost RM500k in Langkawi/ Labuan
Definitely the 850i. For this segment I doubt they will bring in the diesel engine even though it’s a spectacular piece of engineering. I think a lot there are also waiting for the 840i with the B58 3.0 masterpiece in it.
I would buy one if i had the dough. What a beauty and perfect grand tourer for a roadtrip! Too bad i can only drive this in my dreams. So anyone want to be my partner for drug dealing?
No thanks bro. Illegally earn to buy a car is insane. Better act normal and drive like everyone else. No huge appearance bro. Stay humble. Use that hard earn legal money to retire young, so that u have more future ahead without the need to retire at 65. Retire 45 and go travelling while enjoy life rather than owning a good car. After 15 years later, this car will worth 80% less or more. This is not exotic car, so price would not goes up.
Rm1.2m after tax probably
LC500 is over 1mil, so I’m guessing this piece of art is RM1.2mil.
if price is below 1mil, I’m getting 1 as soon as I can.
seriously… this is the one model that I say is a true beauty. still remember the days in the 90s where the old 840/850 were so rare and mesmerizing to look at. this new model just upped the game to a whole new level
I’m guessing RM900k and up.
M850i should be RM900/950k
900 for the 840d, million plus for 850
make sure wait for m8
