2019 Kia Optima EX launched in Malaysia – RM139,888

Naza Kia Malaysia has introduced the new Optima EX, which sits below the range-topping GT with a price of RM139,888 (on-the-road sans insurance). That makes it RM30,000 cheaper than the GT, and unlike the GT, the entry-level D-segment sedan gets a 2.0 litre naturally-aspirated engine.

The 2.0L CVVL engine puts out 163 PS and 196 Nm of torque, and is paired with a six-speed conventional automatic. That’s considerably less than the GT’s 2.0 T-GDi mill, which packs 245 PS and 350 Nm of torque. No performance figures have been detailed, though.

In terms of design, the Optima EX gets the “vertical intaglio grille,” a slightly different twin projector LED headlights design, as well as a new lower intake with horizontal bars instead of the GT’s mesh-type design. The LED fog lamps are identical to the GT’s. Other exterior features include LED combination tail lights and 17-inch multispoke alloy wheels.

Inside, the cabin gets powered driver’s seat with memory function, black fabric seats, electric parking brake, smart key with push-start button, as well as a seven-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionalities. It also gets a 360-degree Around View Monitor, a feature that wasn’t available in the previous Optima EX.

There are three colour options, starting with Aurora Black, Snow White Pearl and Platinum Graphite. Again, the Optima EX is priced at RM139,888, and the price includes a five-year/unlimited mileage warranty.

If Nissan Teana is more overpriced than Kia Optima. Habisla Nissan. No one ever buy Nissan Teana and other Nissan Models including Ugly Nissan Xtrial. Moreover, who is going to buy DANGEROUS NISSAN MODELS when Nissan Gearbox have too much problematic.

Once upon a time, this was the price range of the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.

Now, the Camry and Accord have lompat to RM200,000 category.

So, the Koreans now fill up the RM140k category.

Statistics have shown, fresh graduates now in 2019 are earning lesser than fresh graduates in 2010 in Malaysia

Pity Malaysians. Our pay has become smaller.

    2019 – fresh grad earn RM1983
    2010 – fresh grad earn RM1993

    • This is the result from 10 months of unbridled corruption and dedakism. Welcome to New Malaysia, where everything is unaffordable.

Yes, all our problems are due to the new government! Today morning I had to flush twice after taking a dump! Before the new government, I only had to flush once!

Btw I know u are not that smart, so I will spell it out for you, I was being sarcastic. I agree that there are issues with the new government, but it’s unfair to blame everything on them. They have only been in power for 10 months la, give it a rest.

    • There are also more grads in 2019 as compared to 2010. Employers are taking advantage of that and tell you crap about working for experience and not for money. It’s a chicken and egg situation. So they use the opportunity to exploit everyone for their sake of success.

I agree. The GT is a better buy. A turbo engine and better specs. Actually top up 20k cos there is a 10k rebate.
