Toyota has unveiled the C-HR facelift in Europe, and the refreshed compact crossover will feature improved and new hybrid powertrains, a new multimedia system as well as the usual exterior design enhancements that come with a mid-cycle upgrade.
External revisions include a restyled front bumper and new LED headlight/tail lights. Design-wise, the front units feature daytime running lights (DRLs) and indicators combined into one frontal projector, while the new combi lamps at the rear are connected by a gloss black spoiler creating a single clean shape. Other visual enhancements include a new painted lower lip and fresh alloy wheel designs.
Two hybrid powertrain options will be available on the Continent. The 2ZR-FXE 1.8 litre Atkinson-cycle engine – working with an electric motor with 72 hp and 163 Nm motor – retains its combined 122 hp output, but the automaker says that there are improvements to the unit, although no specifics were mentioned. It is now joined by a new 184 hp 2.0 litre Hybrid Dynamic Force variant.
Elsewhere, the tuning of the electric power steering has been modified for improved steering feel, and the automaker has also improved the insulation of the C-HR across the entire model range with the inclusion of an upgraded NVH pack to reduce cabin noise levels. The 2.0 litre hybrid variant also features a new suspension design, said to improve ride comfort.
Inside, the C-HR gains a new multimedia system that expands the scope of connectivity. Featuring a larger eight-inch touchscreen display, the system comes with full smartphone integration and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. It also supports ‘over the air’ map updates for its navigation system.
In related news, Toyota Australia has revealed that it will begin selling the facelifted C-HR in December, with the hybrid option finally making its way to that market, although only the 1.8 litre version has been announced. The powertrain will be offered in the biggest selling two-wheel drive Koba variant – which makes up nearly half of all C-HR sales in Australia – alongside the existing 1.2 litre turbocharged petrol engine.

1 word. Ohsem.
I would rather buy this awesome game changer that is sold worldwide than an unproven China Proton SUV. The CH-R stunning design is getting even better with this FL
Proton x50 based on Coty Volvo xc40, 70~85k.
The comment you made just prove that China Proton SUV is something to be acknowledge of. And I think, deep down you already approve the China Proton SUV but you’re too loyal (or too embarrassed) to admit. Don’t worry, it’s time to move on to the better. Come, you won’t be judged for doing the right thing.
Finally LED Headlights is here. Sure will tapao HRV sales
But the pricing already tapaued by HRV and X70.
C-HR = Corolla Hatchback Coupe SUV, C-Segment
HR-V = Jazz SUV with Jazz’s sofa, B-Segment -> affordable SUV.
Pricing says everything. BMW X1 could be better than HR-V too but it cannot sell as much.
CHR is a B segment, and it’s name does not come from CHRIS but it stands for Coupe – High Riding.
Hence the reason with camouflaged rear door handles and small rear windows. To look just like a coupe.
TNGA-B wasnt launched yet, how is C-HR a C segment? Dont get mislead by local media. Both, you can call it compact SUV. but 1 from B-segment, 1 from C-segment.
Even the VW Golf is called as compact hacthback by the Western’s Media.
It also in fact share the same Platform TNGA-C with Corrolla Hatchback, even the same sofa too.
Jazz and HR-V share same platform, even the same sofa too.
hahahha…. c segment?
hahahahaah……hahshahahahahahah
wait…
wait…
haahhaahhahaahahahhhaha
Meanwhile CHR is a sales failure here.
Is that true? I see so many of them on the road; some heavily modded.
I see more X70s running around, daily can see at least one. CHR? Maybe once a month.
Ain’t that the truth!? X70 population is growing
Despite the hatred on Toyota cars by majority here, and especially on CHR because of it’s price and small windows and high door handle – I can say the CHR I quite a popular car. Everyday you will come across or 1 will pass by you unless you are blind (or don’t bother).
This car is driven by the elite who can afford it’s price to get something stylish. Those who aren’t capable due to tight budget will go for HRV. Trust me, they want Toyota too after the horrific experience with Honda service but they have no choice but to wait until the 9 years loan is fully serviced.
Me? I stick with my kancil.
RM1,500 instalment. Gaji RM5k can afford CHR.
Been waiting for the launching of this 2.0L hybrid powertrain. Sure it would be an amazing car to drive.
New X50 top spec will likely be less than RM100k. Much better value than this C-HR. X50 is game changer for those looking or had been waiting for small SUV under RM100k.
Proton X50 Low Spec RM69k will also be much better value than RM 125k 1.8L but kosong CKD HR-V ‘RS’ spec.
haha…
rm165k inkambing~~~~~~
Will come to malaysia in 5 years, just like the current chr. Preview everywhere but take years to be actually open for sale.
Umw please give us Koba spec equivalent chr for the launch of the facelifted chr here thank you!!
UMW should ckd this and the all-new Rav4 next year. Sure sales laku!
Great Deal.
2nd row is just enough in space, but it’s the most comfortable compact coupe SUV.
Independent – Double Wishbone Rear Suspension carried from Toyota Harrier made it a total different to others affordable compact SUV. Thanks goodness it’s not rear Torsion Beam.
Not for sale in Malaysia. It’s Honda territory here.
Not for sale in Malaysia. It’s Honda territory here. Malaysian will still buy Honda if it’s a box with wheels, called Honda Expensibox. Don’t you dare try to challenge that reality.
Oo.. I like that.. When Honda Expensibox be coming? I want to buy one want to show one to one friend maybe he want one also. Want!
For me, hrv brv crv whatever v is like “ok, whatever.” And yes, I’m driving CHR.
CHR 2.0 hybrid can buy at Malaysia ?
When will Toyota bring in the hybrid version?????
