October 2019 Malaysian vehicle sales up by 20.61%

The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) has released vehicle sales data for the month of October 2019. A total of 53,870 units were delivered last month, which is 9,204 units – or 20.61% – more than the 44,666 units recorded in September.

The association said the improvement in numbers is due to a longer working month as well as from consumers taking advantage of numerous year-end promotional campaigns. The Perodua Axia facelift, which was launched in September, would have contributed to the higher numbers for the month.

Year-on-year numbers for the month continue to be ahead compared to October last year, in this case by 6,597 units, while year-to-date total industry volume (TIV) over the 10 months of the year has seen 496,861 vehicles being shifted, which is 5,267 units – or 1.05% – less than the corresponding period in 2018.

For the month of November 2019, the association expects the sales volume to be maintained at October levels.

Some say we are experiencing economic recession in MEsia…..but the sales figure of new cars shows increase of car sales…..

Either the recession news are fake, or ppl are super crazy-dumb to buy new cars during recession.

I think sales of Volvo and Audi continue to sink. Hardly see any S90 on the road. Can survive?
