Following the debut of the fourth-generation Kia Carnival in Korea back in August, the carmaker has now released a new, high-roofed variant of the MPV called the Hi Limousine. Prices start from 60.66 million won (RM224,797) for the nine-seat version, but what you really want is the seven-seat option that costs more at 62.71 million won (RM232,394) – more on that later.
At first glance, the Hi Limousine appears to be a regular Carnival with a roof box strapped on to improve cargo capacity, but that’s not the case. In fact, it’s actually part of the vehicle’s body and serves to provide more headroom on the inside compared to the standard model, 291 mm to be precise.
There are other exterior changes too, including a front bumper guard, skid plates, side steps, a dedicated emblem on the tailgate, and a third brake light on the heightened roof structure, which would be under the roof-mounted spoiler on the normal-roofed Carnival.
With these revisions, the Hi Limousine is slightly longer at 5,200 mm (+45 mm) and obviously taller at 2,045 mm (+305 mm). However, the width is unchanged at 1,995 mm, as is the wheelbase that remains at 3,090 mm.
As mentioned at the start, the seven-seat version is the one to have, as passengers will enjoy a lounge-like cabin that features second-row captain’s chairs with leg rests – the third-row is a regular bench that accommodates three people. Meanwhile, the cheaper, nine-seat version has seats arranged following a 2-2-2-3 layout.
Regardless of how many seats you want, both versions share the same kit list. Standard features include a LED exterior lights, 19-inch wheels, a 12.3-inch Supervision digital instrument cluster display, a 12.3-inch UVO touchscreen infotainment system, ambient lighting, Nappa leather upholstery, and automatic climate control with rear, ceiling-mounted vents and an air purifier.
It’s the same story in terms of safety and driver assist systems, as the Hi Limousine gets seven airbags, Vehicle Stability Management, ABS, EBD, brake assist, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure assist, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, driver attention alert, high beam assist, and active cruise control.
This trend continues with the engine, as the variant can only be had with a Smartstream 3.5 litre V6 petrol engine rated at 294 PS (290 hp) and 355 Nm of torque. The GDI mill is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard.

Now it looks like a caravan or a camper or RV…why not incorporate the extra roof properly make it into one frame instead of looking like after market add-on…it sure doesnt look nice…
Really ??? It looks more like a hearse than a caravan lol
why needed more headroom inside?? Unless some passenger is sitting down but non-stop kept bouncing up & down in the van.
at 2,045mm height
Possible to fail at some of the tunnel, basements.
Altough regulations often limit at 2.05m to 2.1m.
There are piping, lighting which are installed with no proper workmanship control for 100% compliance to required height clearance
If the roof height can be adjustable, it would be more interesting.
It also help for lowering the CG for car stability and comfort when car is moving.
The tall roof, more suitable for when car is idling, when VIP want to step in/out of caravan
Yes. Naza kia gotta bring in this caravan, ASAP!
