MBSJ gets Honda Civic FE patrol car – 1.5L turbo sedan with ‘Penguatkuasa’ livery to roam Subang

Majlis Bandaraya Subang Jaya (MBSJ) has received a new Honda Civic FE, which will perform official patrol car (kereta rasmi peronda) and enforcement traffic escort (pengiring trafik penguatkuasa) duties in the city council’s area. The car was delivered by Syarikat Shared Auto Cars, a Honda dealership in Seksyen 15, Shah Alam.

The Civic pictured is a V spec, a RM143,700 mid variant between the base E and the fancy RS. It is powered by a 1.5-litre VTEC Turbo engine with 182 PS and 240 Nm of torque from 1,700 to 4,500 rpm. At 8.4 seconds, the V’s 0-100 km/h time is actually a tenth faster than the RS – besides being slightly lighter (13 kg), it also rolls on 16-inch wheels versus 17s on the RS. Top speed is 200 km/h.

The white Civic’s livery has blue as the main colour. Blue is found on the bonnet, which has MBSJ’s crest and the words ‘Warden Trafik’. The sides of the sedan have a combo of blue, green and red, with “Penguatkuasa MBSJ’ and the city council’s crest. Blue flash lights on the roof too, of course.

It was not mentioned how many units of the Civic were delivered to MBSJ or the total order. PDRM also uses the C-segment sedan, but the cops ride in the previous-generation FC with a 141 PS/174 Nm 1.8L NA engine. What do you think of the Civic’s looks in law enforcement livery?

How come appears to be getting the car from a dealer, and not direct Honda Malaysia? Is it free or MBSJ has to pay the published price?

      • Nah. The Civic FE is the only model in Honda Malaysia’s line up to not have cash rebate deals in a recent promotion. They can’t make enough of these.

Honestly, I believe government agencies and co should be using EV/Hybrids in their fleets. Only then slowly mass market rakyat will move towards HVEV

  • Police chose the Honda Civic is based on the requirement and standards that they have. Ok lah got reasoning. This one majlis use Honda Civic for what purpose? You have a perodua aruz if you need the size. You have the persona which is a sedan that serves a purpose well. Why u need a high power turbocharged car for? Bukannya you’re gonna catch criminals pun.

X70 would have been a better choice. Higher ground clearance, better view for patrolling, higher boot clearance for transporting traffic cones and warning signs etc2…

City council enforcement does not necessarily require kereta peronda polis style of turbocharged patrol vehicle. Use Saga or Bezza is adequate enough.

Why so kiasu if MBSJ officers got to use your dream car for round around with free petrol. You want to be like them then join MBSJ enforcement la. If you don’t want then just shut up and continue kumpul duit/hutang to get one yourself. Life is so easy.
