Pricing for the Zeekr X has been revealed for Australia, and according to a report by Drive, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) will cost less than the Volvo EX30 but more than the smart #1.
All three EVs are built on the Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform, albeit with differing body dimensions. Of the three, the X is longer overall than the #1, although both share the same wheelbase of 2,750 mm, while the EX30 is the smallest and has a shorter wheelbase by 100 mm.
In Australia, the X starts from AUD56,900 (about RM161k) before on-road costs for the base rear-wheel drive variant, which undercuts the EX30 by AUD3,090 (RM8.8k) but is AUD2,000 (RM5.7k) more than the #1. The base X variant features an electric motor rated at 272 PS (268 hp or 200 kW) and 343 Nm of torque that is powered by a nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery with an energy capacity of 66 kWh.
By comparison the entry-level EX30 – also RWD – uses the same electric motor mentioned above, but with a 69-kWh NMC battery instead. The #1 has the same outputs and battery type and capacity as the X. The X is also available with an all-wheel drive powertrain that sees outputs of 428 PS (422 hp or 315 kW) and 543 Nm, with the 66-kWh NMC battery retained.
Both the EX30 and #1 (the latter in Brabus guise) are also available as AWD variants that have the same outputs – the EX30 keeps its 69-kWh NMC battery. In terms of pricing, the X AWD retails for AUD64,900 (RM184k), which is less than the Volvo and smart equivalents by AUD5,090 (RM14k) and AUD3,000 (RM8.5k) respectively.
In Malaysia, the recently launched EX30 sells for between RM188,888 and RM228,888 on-the-road without insurance, while the #1 is priced from RM169,000 to RM249,000 after the price adjustment in May. The X hasn’t been launched here yet but it is expected to go on sale this year. How much do you expect the X to be priced at when it arrives?

The X looks more fierce than ex30…of course, looks better than the cartoon smart #1
Wow our prices are more than the Aus. AUD is stronger currency and they get a cheaper price… that mind boggling.
