Bentley Continental GT, GTC and Flying Spur gain Mulliner versions – luxury touches; 782 PS PHEV

Following the debuts of the latest Bentley Continental GT, Continental GTC and Flying Spur earlier this year, the company has now revealed the more luxury-focused, Mulliner variants of these three models.

The Mulliner offerings are easily identified by their signature ‘Floating Diamond’ grille with a chrome surround and centre bar. This is joined by chrome lower grilles as well as further chromeware on the sides (accompanied by Satin Silver mirror caps) of the vehicles and chrome-finish tailpipes.

As an alternative, Bentley offers customers the ability to specific all the exterior chrome and mirror caps in gloss black with the optional Mulliner Blackline package. The wheels are also uniquely-designed 22-inch units, available in Tungsten Grey or gloss black, both with polished accents and self-levelling wheel badges.

For the Mulliner versions of the Continental GT and GTC, the twin single headlamps sport an intricate ‘cut crystal’ reflector as a bit of luxury details, while a Mulliner badge adorns the front wings. For the Flying Spur Mulliner, the ‘flying B’ at the front of the car come as standard (in chrome or black finish), as is the wing vent with double-diamond detailing.

Moving inside, a selection of Mulliner-curated, three-colour combinations are offered with with accent-colour piping and unique embroidery on the hand-stitched seats, which feature a new diamond-pattern perforation. Standard here is ‘Wellness’ seating with postural adjustment as well as heating and ventilation functions.

Other luxury touches include deep-pile carpets, Mulliner graphics for the digital displays, illuminated treadplates and even leather-bound keys in a unique presentation box that matches the colour scheme of their car’s interior.

Unsurprisingly, the colour palette is filled with options, with no less than 101 exterior paint colours, excluding those created through a bespoke paint-matching service. Adding to these are 15 primary hide colours, 11 secondary shades, six accent colours for the interior, along with eight wood veneers and three technical-finish options for the dashboard, centre console and other areas.

Much like the Speed variants, the Mulliner range is powered by Bentley’s ‘Ultra Performance Hybrid’ plug-in hybrid with a total system output of 782 PS (771 hp or 575 kW) and 1,000 Nm of torque. The system is made up of a 4.0 litre turbocharged V8 petrol engine, an electric motor, an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive.

Also part of the setup is a 25.9-kWh battery for up to 81 km of electric-only range with the Continental GT or 76 km with the Flying Spur. In fully electric mode, the top speed is 140 km/h, and the battery can be charged with the 11-kW onboard AC unit in 2.75 hours.
