Following the success of the Saga Cup, which was first introduced in 2014, the Malaysia Speed Festival (MSF) has introduced the Myvi Cup category as part of MSF Superturismo 2024, beginning with Round 6 which is scheduled for November 10 at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit.
Open to all Perodua Myvis of various engine capacities sold in Malaysia, the Myvi Cup will have Pro and Casual sub-categories – drivers will fall into either category based on the race organisers’ grading.
The rules and regulations mirror those of the Saga Cup – besides a list of compulsory safety equipment that must be fitted, the front brakes must retain the original callipers and disc rotors, while the rear original drum brakes must be retained. Brake disc rotors – including slotted and cross-drilled rotors – pads, brake shoes, and brake hoses may be replaced with direct-replacement aftermarket items but must be of original dimensions.
Competitors must also retain the standard engine block externally with the original throttle body and original inlet manifold. These components can be modified but the exterior must remain standard. Additional items such as extra fuel injectors and hoses cannot be added.
The original ECU must be used, but competitors may flash the ECU or add on computer and control units. A replacement standalone ECU is not allowed.
Furthermore, the original Myvi gearbox must be retained, although the gear ratios (including the final drive ratio) may be changed. Prohibited are dog engagement gears, sequential gear changing and limited-slip differentials (LSD), and all cars must be front-wheel drive.
“The Myvi is undoubtedly Malaysia’s most popular model today – it has been for many many years, so much so it is often referred to as the king of the road – and therefore the introduction of the Myvi Cup is only a natural step towards bringing greater diversity into motor racing,” MSF Superturismo Principal Adian Yein Khalid said, adding that MSF has always believed in making racing more accessible and affordable to the masses.
“(The Myvi) is also a much more modern car compared to the earlier generations of Proton Saga and this again will provide participants with another avenue to move up to. And contrary to belief, the Myvi has demonstrated that it is very quick and equally competitive in the track,” he said.

Lol
Might want to inform the KLIA air traffic controller, the Myvis might take off over the two long SIC straights
Wrong name, is a King Cup
Myvis taking off and turning turtle will be good entertainment indeed. Good job, MSF
Long overdue… This should be as fun to watch as the saga cup
Most of the Myvis would be seen ran in to the ditch and overturned.
