The GAC Aion Hyper HT (known as the Hyptec HT in export markets) seems to be doing its rounds at GAC Aion showrooms in Malaysia. A quick Facebook post search reveals that the very-orange SUV (which appears to be the same LHD unit that was on display at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024) has travelled at the very least to Puchong, Johor and Ipoh, since September. This latest pair of photos show the falcon-doored SUV at GAC Setia Alam.
The gullwing-doored SUV is already on sale in Thailand for 1.449 million-1.749 million baht (RM188k-226k, the higher price gets you the gullwing doors) and in Indonesia from 685 million rupiah (RM189k). Is it coming to Malaysia? We’ll have to wait and see.
In Thailand and Indonesia, the GAC Aion Hyptec HT is powered by a rear motor with 340 PS (250 kW) and 430 Nm, which takes juice from an 83.3 kWh LFP battery. 0-100 km/h is done in 5.8 seconds and top speed is 183 km/h, while claimed range is 620 km in the looser NEDC cycle.
Max charging rates are 11 kW AC and 280 kW DC – with the latter, getting from 10% to 70% SoC takes just 15 minutes. There’s also Vehicle to Load (V2L) power supply at 3.3 kW.
Inside, you look at a 8.8-inch digital instrument panel above (rather than through) a small steering wheel, Peugeot style. The front doors have electric open and close too, and there are 12 sensors around the car to detect surrounding objects and avoid mishaps. Other kit includes a 14.6-inch centre screen, Nappa leather with front seat massage, VIP and sleep modes for the rear seats, 22 Dolby Atmos speakers and a giant panoramic roof.
In its home market of China (where the Hyper HT name is used), you can choose from two motor outputs and four battery sizes. If you go for the 245 PS motor, you can choose a 70 kWh (550 km CLTC range) or a 72.7 kWh battery (600 km CLTC range). If you go for the 340 PS motor, your battery options are 80 kWh (670 km range) or 99.5 kWh (825 km range).

Aion should show how the gullwing doors open when it is parked closed to cars parked on either side like Model X. Or if got low obstacle overhead is there a sensor to stop the gullwing mechanism from hitting the obstacle.
Will only interested on the 99.5 kWh. Bring this in to be different than others.

Only problem with gullwing doors is when it rains.From the top and side u can get plenty of rain.Wear a raincoat to get out without getting wet!
