Person caught on video throwing themselves in front of car on highway – install a dashcam for evidence

Traffic on highways tends to be more predictable than on other roads, though as this dashcam footage shows, motorists could potentially be caught out by the unexpected actions of others.

Posted to Facebook by Sayyidul Arsyad, the footage shows the dashcam vehicle travelling along what appears to be the NKVE in the Jalan Duta, Kuala Lumpur-bound direction, on the far left lane next to the emergency lane.

Briefly after passing a blue Perodua Myvi to its right, the camera vehicle approaches an unidentified person walking on the emergency lane, who then appears to deliberately throw themselves in front of the camera vehicle which manages to take evasive action, though it need to swerve into the adjacent lane to do so.

What the unidentified person intended to achieve by literally putting themselves in harm’s way is anyone’s guess, especially with vehicles approaching at high speed where colliding with a person could be fatal.

As with other instances similar to this, the presence of a functioning dashcam is vital for safeguarding oneself from the perception of wrongdoing, as the reason for this vehicle’s evasive action may not be obvious to other road users.
