Perodua Ativa Fuze debuts at KLIMS 2024 – futuristic design and lighting on the outside, PS5 on the inside

This is the Perodua Ativa Fuze, a concept vehicle that has made its debut at this year’s Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS). With a name that stands for ‘Futuristic Urban Zen Experience’, the Fuze is presumably meant to provide occupants with a place where they can detach from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Looking noticeably different (and futuristic) when compared to a standard Ativa, the Fuze’s modifications include a new front end featuring a honeycomb grille that a light bar that runs through an illuminated Perodua logo. The round fog lamps have also been replaced with lighting elements sporting an ‘X’ motif, while an additional light strip highlights the base of the front bumper.

You’ll also notice a specific pattern applied to the area just above the lower intake which is replicated on the C-pillars. As for the sides, pronounced wheel arch surrounds in a two-tone scheme accompany the disc-style wheels, joined by a large ‘Fuze’ script and even more lighting near the rocker panels.

Moving to the rear, the tinted taillight lens covers have been replaced with clear ones, and there are now light bars on either side of the Perodua tailgate logo. A more expressive rear bumper, also with the pattern seen on the front and C-pillars, get the same light strip treatment as we’ve seen along the bottom portion of the vehicle. Note the roof-mounted light bar as well.

There are more surprises on the inside, as Perodua has stuffed a PlayStation 5 into the boot of the Fuze concept. This is wired to displays behind the front seats, each with their own individual wireless controller.

The standard head unit also gets replaced with a larger system that appears to be Android-based, while the steering wheel is sportier in look and complemented by generous ambient lighting. A pretty nice touch are the colours of the Jalur Gemilang presented as stripes on the door handles as well as on the seats.
