Zeekr is set to enter the South Korean market by the end of this year, reported Car News China. When it does, the brand will be introducing the 007 and the X to the South Korean market, and it is currently negotiating with five automobile dealers to represent the brand, according to the report.
According to director of Jeonbuk Institute of Automotive Convergence Technology Lee Hang-gu, the success of American EV maker Tesla showed that there is demand for high-end electric vehicles, and Chinese smart EVs will be attractive to technologically savvy consumers in Korea.
The brand has established an office in South Korea in the second half of last year, with the appointment of Kim Nam-ho as general manager for the outfit. Kim was previously product manager at BMW Korea, and general sales manager at Polestar Korea, Car News China reported.
Zeekr also revealed to Bloomberg that it plans to open showrooms in Seoul and the Gyeonggi province in the second half of this year. Meanwhile, customer vehicle deliveries for the Korean market are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2026.
In Malaysia, the Zeekr X crossover and Zeekr 009 MPV arrived locally in December, priced from RM156k and from RM350k, respectively, the brand’s first announcement in June that it would be entering the Malaysian market.
Also set to arrive in Malaysia from the brand this year is the Zeekr 7X, which was officially launched in China in September 2024. The 7X is underpinned by the PMA2+ platform with an 800-volt electrical architecture, which is also used in the 007 sedan.
