Mercedes-Benz EQS500, S580e enter Malaysia Airlines private transfer service for business class customers

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia and Malaysia Aviation Group have launched their strategic collaboration for the private terminal transfer service that will be offered to Malaysia Airlines’ Enrich Platinum, Business Suite and Business Class passengers at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1.

Air travel passengers who need to transfer between the satellite terminal and main terminal at KLIA presently need to take a shuttle bus service between terminals, as resumption of the Aerotrain service that has been terminated in 2023 has been delayed once again, beyond the end of January.

At present, business class passengers at KLIA Terminal 1 take a business class-specific shuttle bus transfer, and now the partnership between Mercedes-Benz Malaysia and Malaysia Aviation Group is an exclusive arrangement for passengers flying with Malaysia Airlines, which will be in effect until the end of 2025. This supersedes the previous arrangement with BMW Group Malaysia, with the i7.

The private terminal transfer service for eligible Malaysia Airlines customers commenced on January 16 this year, and the vehicle fleet will consist of the Mercedes-Benz EQS 500 4Matic battery-electric vehicle and the Mercedes-Benz S580e plug-in hybrid.

Customers eligible for the private terminal transfer service are Malaysia Airlines Business Class ticket holders and Enrich Platinum members. From March 1 onwards, new Mercedes-Benz customers will also have access to the VIP treatment, though only if they fly Malaysia Airlines (Economy Class included).

Additionally, Malaysia Airlines Enrich Platinum and Gold members will receive perks including invitations to exclusive lifestyle events, special vehicle incentives, and seamless travel services, and will get special My Mercedes Rewards on purchases of selected Mercedes-Benz BEV and PHEV models.

“Partnering with Malaysia Aviation Group allows us to elevate luxury travel experiences for our customers and Enrich members, setting new benchmarks in exclusivity and sophistication,” said Mercedes-Benz Malaysia CEO and president Amanda Zhang.

“Our partnership with Mercedes-Benz Malaysia ensures Enrich members and elite passengers enjoy premium comfort. This supports our efforts to enhance in-flight and on-ground offerings, reinforcing Malaysia Airlines’ premium service,” said Malaysia Aviation Group CEO of loyalty and travel services Philip See.

Funny you should say that. I flew to Bangkok and Ho Chih Minh on MAS and it was full, even in business class
