Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is going to invest £65 million (RM354 million) to expand its luxury paint services in the UK and Slovakia to meet higher demand for personalised cars from high-end clients, Reuters reports.
New paint facilities will be opened in Castle Bromwich, UK and Nitra, Slovakia, more than doubling the capacity of its SV Bespoke Paint matching service, allowing Range Rover SV clients to choose any colour they want, including to match their private jets or yachts.
According to the news agency, JLR is joining Rolls-Royce in trying to cash in on the trend, although the latter is investing nearly five times more – £300 million (RM1.6 billion) to focus on more bespoke cars, featuring anything from gold sculptures to mother-of-pearl artwork.
