Initially set for opening in March, the LRT3 Shah Alam Line has been revealed to commence operations in the third quarter of this year, with physical work on the train line having reached 95% completion as of July last year.
As indicated in its name, LRT3 is the third LRT line in the Klang Valley after the LRT Ampang and Sri Petaling line and the LRT Kelana Jaya line. The third, Shah Alam line runs from Bandar Utama to Johan Setia, and the stations previously dropped – Tropicana (previously Lien Hoe), Temasya, Raja Muda (Sirim), Bukit Raja and Bandar Botanik – have been reinstated in a return to the project’s original scope.
Construction of the reinstated stations on the Shah Alam line will continue after LRT3 operations have started in September, and this will not affect operations, transport minister Anthony Loke previously said in July.
In terms of supporting services, the LRT3 Shah Alam Line will receive a fleet of electric feeder buses, which will be complemented by three charging depots. The 150-unit fleet was approved by cabinet last year, as part of a wider RM3.8 billion cost for the returning of LRT3 to its original scope.

The LRT that WKS rescued from the stupidity & shortsightedness of LGE & Anthony Loke.
While the constant ballooning prices from LRT, MRT to give to cronies during WKS time and constant breakdown even brand new ones….anyway hope there is not nonsense telling the public later that oh the train is not yet tested yet.
Fake News. The so called savings from downsizing LRT3 and subsequent even higher cost to revive those stations showed there is little to no such savings as claimed by this PH spinmaster.
Also the constant breakdown was caused by the maintenance budget cuts under Loke, when they have no money to buy spareparts they got no choice but to run the trainsets until breakdown. This issue was resolved by WKS when he took control and gave them the parts needed. Now we don’t hear such issues anymore thanks to the foresight of WKS. The only nonsense here is you trying to defend your idiots paymasters.
Guess you must be too young to remember where WKS was running around during election with all public transport in problems with him getting foreigners to solve the issue still cannot resolved in weeks.
Guess you must be too young to remember when was the last election. Here’s a hint it was post Covid lockdown when many companies & business were still facing restrictions so to parts needed took much longer time but thanks to the perseverance of WKS, Rapid eventually got their fleet back on track. As usual Loke comes in to take all the credit. Mind you, KLIA aerotrain completely brokedown in his watch and after >2 years it is still not in operation.
If you worked in local rail industry, you would know that the maintenance budget had always been low even under the BN era. We are one of few countries that our trains do not last the 20 years it should with proper maintenance.
It’s manually operated, right?? Thank goodness.. those automated LRTs/MRTs are unreliable, due to our slacking maintenance nature.
Back in their heyday, driverless Putra LRT was far more reliable than driven Star LRT.
Mark my words
LRT3 easily the
Worst ridership of all
Next would be MRT3
So the Tropicana Station also operate on September 2025? Or not.
This further delayed is stupid! The lrt3 should be ready by next month
The cost cutting didn’t help because they revive the 4 postponed station. People have to travel with 3 car-set train instead of 6 car-set train. MRT circle line was also delayed now Mont Kiara is suffering huge traffic everyday. MRT circle line need to be start soon as possible.
Pathetic complaints
Malaysians are full with complaints. Please travel to gain experience and stop all these non sensical complaints. Our infrastructure is one of the best in Asia after, china, japan, korea, singapore and perhaps taiwan.. I have travelled a lot and I can attest to that, even better than many european countries, spain etc mind you. The highways in spain sucks. Try the trains in the US..you will know and even australia and bew zealand. Start giving constructive comments rather than sulking complaints..
We are able to complete metro line in 3 to 5 years
In vietnam it took them 12 years to complete a 14 line metro, built through a JV with the japanese
Please be more appreciative
Try taking the ETS from KL.to.padang besar and soon Kl to JB…it is amazing kudos to KTM.
Cheers!
Exactly. Those complaining should test it out over the the weekend, and see the efficiency instead of being keyboard warriors
