Toyota has teased a new electric SUV for European customers that will make its official debut next month on March 12. It hasn’t announced if other markets will get this electric vehicle (EV) will make its way to other markets.
The Japanese automaker also isn’t providing much in the way of details for now, with the release accompanying the announcement merely stating “the new car presents a sleek and stylish coupe design with a spacious comfortable and versatile interior and elevated driving dynamics.”
We do, however, get a shadowy photo and video of the upcoming model, which bears a close resemblance to the bZ Compact SUV Concept shown back in 2022. The sloping rear window forming a fastback silhouette, “hammerhead” front end, sleek roofline and kinked window line (near the C-pillar) are all cues represented by the concept.
Compared to the current bZ4X, the concept is a smaller vehicle that measures 4,536 mm long (vs 4,690 mm), 1,887 mm wide (vs 1,860 mm), 1,560 mm tall (vs 1,650 mm) and with a wheelbase of 2,743 mm (vs 2,850 mm).
With its smaller footprint, the production version of the concept has been rumoured to be called the bZ3X. However, recent reports indicate Toyota will abandon the ‘bZ’ acronym to identify its future EVs, so we’ll see what they come up with.

Looks like another compliance vehicle from Toyota. The BZ series is a failure, most likely done on purpose to show how bad EVs are and to continue promoting their hybrid. Is the Bz4X still on display at the UMW Toyota HQ in Shah Alam? Just another decoration item now.
while i understand that this is going to be a europe offering, toyota can tease global models and Malaysia still won’t ever get them because UMWT/Sime Darby is too busy rebadging Perodua’s. :(
BZ4X was a joke
– 7.4kW AC, 150kW DC
– Grey plastic throughout from 2005 parts bin (seems to be fixed from photo).
– 400km WLTP (350km real world)
– Insufficient performance for an EV, especially one with poor range
– Meh ADAS and L2 driving
– Expensive for what it was
They were not serious with that effort. Let’s see if they are waking up from that slumber
Kudos to toyota keeping the best sub compact segment ev suv for themself not sharing with daihatsu stepsister p2
Bz is a terrible nameplate to begin with. The bz4x should cost as much as the e.Mas 7
