Peugeot 3008 sighted again in Malaysia – mild-hybrid petrol-powered version to join EV fastback line-up?

The Peugeot e-3008 has been sighted on Malaysian roads once again, in an image shared to the paultan.org Automotive/Car Discussion Group on Facebook. This follows an earlier sighting last September as well as an official showing at the 2024 Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) last December.

The example photographed here appears not to feature the charging flap located above the rear left wheel arch on the e-3008 EV, while the mild-hybrid version presents with its petrol tank filler flap on the right-hand-side of the vehicle; the lack of a charging flap in this image suggests that it is the latter that was sighted.

Stellantis Malaysia had previously stated that it remains open to all powertrain options for the fastback crossover. Internationally, the internal combustion powertrain for this model is a 136 PS 1.2 litre PureTech mild-hybrid three-cylinder petrol engine.

Shown from its international debut as a battery-electric model with three powertrain variants, the e-3008 could be specified as a single-motor 2WD variant with 213 PS and 343 Nm, a long-range variant with 231 PS/343 Nm, and a dual-motor, AWD variant with 326 PS.

In base variant EV guise, the e-3008 gets a a 73 kWh battery that offers up to 525 km of range, while the Long Range derivative gets a larger, 98 kWh battery for up to 700 km of range. The more powerful dual-motor variant gets the same 73 kWh battery capacity as the base variant, and also offers a claimed 525 km of range as the base variant.

For charging, the e-3008 gets a 11 kW onboard charger as standard, while a 22 kW AC charger can be optioned. DC fast charging is supported at up to 160 kW, enabling a 20-80% recharge in 30 minutes.
