A driver of a BMW 3 Series sideswiped a motorcyclist after overtaking other cars in a dangerous manner, with the entire incident being captured in a dashcam video that has gone viral on social media.
Based on the timestamp, the incident took place on March 17, 2025 at about 12:22am. At the start of the video, the recording vehicle is seen moving from the right to the middle lane, presumably to allow the 3 Series to overtake.
After the 3 Series enters the frame, it then proceeds to cut across to the leftmost lane, passing a Honda City and Perodua Alza before coming up behind a motorcyclist. The offending car then switches to the middle lane that is occupied by a Proton Perdana.
Attempting to overtake the Perdana (on the left lane, mind you) and unaware (or not noticing) that the motorcyclist is close by, the driver of the 3 Series swerves and takes out the motorcyclist before coming to a stop by the side of the road.
As a reminder, “zig-zag” overtaking (weaving through traffic dangerously) is an offence that violates Section 42(1) of Road Transport Act 1987 which involves driving dangerously and recklessly. If convicted, the driver can be imprisoned for up to five years as well as be fined not less than RM5,000 and not more than RM15,000. With a second or subsequent conviction, you can face a prison term not exceeding ten years and a fine of between RM10,000 and RM20,000.
Additionally, under Section 42(3), a person convicted shall be disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for a period of not less than two years. This increases to 10 years with a second or subsequent conviction.

At one point, the BMW driver was directly behind the motorcycle and even swerved to avoid it by changing lanes. To claim that the driver was unaware of the motorcycle is a blatant falsehood. This act constitutes attempted murder, and the maximum penalty should be imposed!
hukuman mati saja!
The minimum punishment have to be suspension of driver’s driving license.
The law should be amend so that all road offenders shall be punish with their face and name being displayed at digital billboard and also an online database.
This sort of punnishment will be far more effective than fine or jail time.
If it led to death and the driver is confirmed to be the cause, the driver shall not be entitled to claim insurance for his vehicle repair. The car shall be destroyed by driving PT91M pendekar over it multiple time with the driver watching.
lol the cam drive is also in racing mode with the bmw
Motorcyclist shouldn’t be riding on the road lah…. Let only cars race on any roads in Malaysia because only car drivers pay road tax here… ♂️
time to ban car on the road /s
Charge the BMW driver for driving recklessly and attempted murder.
ni yg dipanggil babi
Dua2 tu tengah lumba
Patut lesen digantung
Malam lapang xbleh tidur
Fine RM5000 is like RM500 for the rich, RM15,000 is like RM1500 to them , hence they may take it lightly. So I suggest implement rotan punishment+ jail terms for reckless driver like that…IF cause accident ban driving for life and jail 30 years+ Rotan , if causes death , implement death penalty
Instead of motorcycle how I hope that bmw driver crashes into a trailer oil tanker truck instead …
