Audi brings AirConsole to its vehicles – in-car gaming platform available for cars with Android-based MMI

Audi has joined other automakers like BMW in bringing the AirConsole gaming platform to its cars, enabling passengers to experience a variety of games directly via the central infotainment system.

According to the German brand, this is done through the MMI touch display or on the MMI passenger display in models with that feature, with smartphones serving as controllers after they are connected to the vehicle using a QR code.

For now, selected vehicles such as the current A5, Q5, A6, A6 e-tron and Q6 e-tron, which come with Android-based infotainment systems, support AirConsole. Users can download the gaming platform through the Audi Application Store, which also offers plenty of other third-party apps such as Spotify, YouTube, DAZN and Articly.

“The AirConsole portfolio ranges from games of skill to party games and is regularly expanded. Classics such as Mattel’s Uno Car Party! and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? provide a wide variety of entertainment. To mark its 40th anniversary, the popular drawing game Pictionary is being reinterpreted through an additional collaboration with Mattel, especially for use in the car. Pictionary Car Party is exclusively available to Audi drivers until the end of 2025,” the company said.
