Johor KPDN investigating Singapore-registered car recently seen fuelling up on RON95 at Iskandar Puteri

The Johor branch of the ministry of domestic trade and cost of living (KPDN) has said it is investigating a Singapore-registered car seen fuelling up on RON 95 at Iskandar Puteri recently.

Photos of the incident, which were posted on ‘SGRV Front Man’ Facebook page, showed a man standing next to a Singapore-registered MINI filling up containers with RON 95. According to the post, the man had filled up the car with RON 95 prior to doing the same for the containers.

“The Johor KPDN is aware of photos circulating of a foreign vehicle believed to be owned by a Singaporean citizen being filled with RON 95 fuel at a petrol station in Johor Bahru. A detailed investigation is being conducted to identify the location of the petrol station involved and whether there was a violation of existing regulations,” said director Lilis Saslinda Pornomo, as reported by Berita Harian.

“If the investigation finds that an offence has been committed, appropriate action will be taken against the parties involved, including the petrol station operator if found to be negligent or abetting,” he added.

  • Singaporean vehicles entering Malaysia via the land checkpoints at Woodlands and Tuas must pay a RM20 road charge right?

if this isn’t enough just implement directly here.
    make it RM5/day surcharge.

Most cant be travelling more than RM30/day, practically.
this should enough compensate the subsidy lost to foreign vehicle, but Malaysian Mykad owner.

Otherwise this kind of news i dont see an ending.
sounds like Malaysian arent welcoming Singaporean?

Sinkies are smart deswai they know where to save money to buy Mini One.
Us Msians are stupid deswai we only ride cheap Myvi and continue to remain poor.

Face 3.5:1 reality. If we want to stop it, charge Sinkie petrol prices and give us Sinkie wages.

Yeahla we give chance with no enforcement so like this la. Singaporeans only know how to behave when people are looking over their shoulder. Come out of Singapore then the true colours show. So much for developed country la. Still can’t beat the Japanese in or out of Japan.

Don’t be surprise when they claim the petrol belongs to them since they like to claim everything.

Isn’t our RON97 ridiculously cheap compared to their lowest grade (RON92)? Last I checked, it was almost three times cheaper! So why still bother filling up with RON95, which is clearly meant for Malaysians?

after subsidy rationalization is enforced, if T20 who pays the most taxes pump ron95 and pay RM1.99, is that also considered stealing ?

Since the VEP has already been enforced, JPJ and KPDN should collaborate to ban this vehicle from entering Malaysia.

Actually kan the solution (not 100% perfect lah) is very easy..

I don’t know if the Government have think about it or not.

Impose regulations that foreigners cannot pay for petrol and diesel using cash or QR or e wallet, only credit card.

Then at the counter or pump, if detect foreign credit card as payment method then cannot buy subsidise petrol / diesel.

Again this is not a bulletproof method but surely can help to reduce incident like this.
