The concessionaire says that the southbound Taiping R&R has been inundated by flash floods and is closed, with the latest update coming in at 8am this morning. Surau facilities at the northbound Taiping R&R are flooded and remain closed as of 7.54 am.
Parts of the highway have been affected by stagnant water as well – as of 7.21 am, the emergency and left lanes from KM 214.3 to KM 215.0 southbound Taiping (U) to Changkat Jering are closed. However, a flooded area between Changkat Jering and Kuala Kangsar is now open to traffic.
