Roadside bollards are for safety; road users need to respect, and not obstruct pedestrian walkways – DBKL

Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has issued a reminder earlier this week that bollards are essential safety barriers designed to protect pedestrians from encroaching vehicles, and are not merely decorations.

Road users were also urged to respect pedestrian walkways, and to stop the practice of parking and riding motorcycles on pavement. Bollards in the city are installed with a spacing of 600 mm, which DBKL says is of a universal design that offers accessibility to wheelchair users, parents with strollers, and the elderly, it added.

These bollards are also fitted with reflective strips for improved visibility at night and during heavy rain for added safety, the city hall said. Pavements are shared spaces that must be respected by all, it said, as it urged the public to not create any obstruction on the walkways in the interests of safety and comfort.

I have file a complain via the ADU@KL 2.0 on motorcyclist using the pedestrian walkway (opposite Pearl Point) heading towards KL every weekday morning, from the bus stop all the way before Public Bank.

Their reply was to file a complain to PDRM and that was it.
    Kes selesai.
