The LRT Ampang-Sri Petaling line that sustained a train derailment incident last week has had most of its repair work at the Chan Sow Lin station completed, and the line will run under a temporary operation mode, Rapid KL has announced.
This follows the announcement by transport minister Anthony Loke, who said that the LRT line will be operational by today, June 3.
According to Rapid KL, train services on the line are as follows:
- Trains from Sentul Timur are operating as normal to Putra Heights, and vice versa; five-minute frequency
- Trains from Ampang will turn back at Chan Sow Lin Station; five-minute frequency
- Passengers travelling from Sentul Timur to Ampang are required to change trains at Chan Sow Lin Station (Platforms 1B and 2B)
- Passengers travelling from Ampang to Sentul Timur are required to change trains at Chan Sow Lin Station (Platform 1A)
The derailment occurred in a track switching zone a short distance away from the LRT Chan Sow Lin station last week. No injuries were reported, and all 25 passengers in the train involved were safely evacuated. Free-of-charge feeder buses are in service, at frequencies of between 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic conditions. Passengers in need of further assistance are advised to refer to station officers or auxiliary police.
