F1: Mercedes GP Petronas reveals 2010 livery!

We’ve been waiting for this! The Mercedes GP Petronas team has revealed its 2010 livery at a launch ceremony at the Shining Silver Star’s museum in Stuttgart, also showing off the team drivers in their new outfit. We’re of course talking about seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher and compatriot Nico Rosberg. Another German, ex-Sauber driver Nick Heidfeld is reported to be the reserve and test driver.

Compared to the official renderings shown when the Petronas deal was signed, the real design features less of the green accents which I thought looked good as a contrast to the silver/black theme. There’s sort of an “unfinished metal” look going on, which I think is quite unusual but cool.

Beneath the livery is a 2009 Brawn BGP001 racer. The proper MGP W01 2010 car with the new livery will break cover once official pre-season testing starts next month.

Congratulations to Petronas for making the right strategic decision to go with Merc F1. Not only they will get greater exposure and brand recognition, they are also doing their part in promoting Malaysia to the world.

With lotus F1 and Merc GP Petronas, i bet this year Sepang will see a larger crowd than last year during race day. And i will be there too!

Great promo for our very own product!

Frankly speaking, PETRONAS showed how mature they were in opting for sponsoring Mercedes. It already looks like a great partnership. I'm glad they didn't bow to the nagging and complaining of Fernandez: he has to understand that if he wants to attract a sponsor like PETRONAS, he has to prove himself first.

Respect to PETRONAS for their sponsoring, for their vision and ambition to go far and conquer new markets! Congrats and go PETRONAS/Mercedes!!

How about Kelantan oil royalty? They should put Kelantan flag on the car as Kelantan is sponsoring all its royalty to the car i guess.

Azrai, McLaren historically use orange and black on their livery. Merc on the other hand became famous with their silver arrow racing car back in the 30s.

I think silver with black is very cool, i watch last night on TV and realized the green is gone, and they look sharper on TV! Very cool.

Now, imagine when the win the podium…it will be crazy, and Petronas investment for marketing will be praise..its like sponsoring Man-U and they win the championship.

now i wonder who in Petronas pull this string and ignore Tony…hahaha..maybe Tony's flight will choose to use Shell instead of Petronas then…hahah..make a move SHELL!

Are you sure they don't pay royalty to those country? I don't know but for Kelantan i'm sure they don't get. Royalty is not Politics, its about money right to the oil producer state.
