BMW has introduced its M Performance exhaust system with Active Sound technology for diesel-powered variants of the 2 Series Coupe and Convertible, 3 Series Sedan and Touring as well as 4 Series Coupe, Convertible and Gran Coupe. Set to be available from September onwards, the setup is comprised of an exhaust and sound system as well as a control unit.

Developed specifically for the diesel mills employed in said models, the exhaust system is said to be “perfectly attuned to the basic acoustics of each engine.” With said M Performance exhaust setup installed, drivers can then select from a variety of acoustic textures to suit the mood – from city driving where excess noise might not be welcomed to spirited ventures.

Cycling through the different levels is achieved via the Driving Experience Control function whereby drivers can opt for “a clear, transparent sound” for long-distance drives by selecting the Eco Pro and Comfort mode. For a more involving drive, one only has to select Sport and Sport+ mode to allow the Active Sound system to undergo a complete personality change, resulting in “maximum emotionalism.”

Aside from enhancing the experience from an aural perspective, the BMW M Performance exhaust system with Active Sound also aims to please visually. Said system features a dual exhaust setup with chrome accents that are said to blend “perfectly with the vehicle’s design.”

BMW is also offering its M Performance valve exhaust silencer as an add-on for the X4 xDrive35i. Said system features a Bluetooth 4.0 remote control to allow owners to select from two operating modes – a Sport mode and a circuit-only Track mode. Drivers are notified of the selected mode via an LED display and is activated by double clicking on said remote control.

The BMW M Performance exhaust system is available on the 2 Series Coupe and Convertible in 18d, 20d and 25d trim. As for the 3 Series range, models with the designation of the 18d, 20d, 25d, 28d, 30d, 35d can be paired with said exhaust setup – 4 Series variants such as the 18d, 20d, 25d, 30d, 35d conclude the list.

BMW, many of your diesel cars buyer go and remove the catalytic converter, which is very harmful to our environment. Please do something.

    1. fit back the DPF for all your diesel cars
    2. stop support any diesel owners who remove CAT converter !!!
