2016 Renault Megane IV – production car pics leaked

This is it, the production next-generation Renault Megane IV. After a few rounds of spyshots, we now have a clear look at the 2016 Megane ahead of its world debut at this month’s Frankfurt motor show.

And it looks good. This blue car is the GT, the sportiest variant of the range outside of the full blown Megane RS by Renault Sport. It looks the part, with sporty front bumper and lip, GT badge below the big diamond logo, big wheels, rear diffuser, twin tailpipes and the GT line’s trademark blue paint.

The new Megane’s design is more Talisman than Kadjar and Clio, with the same headlamp and grille treatment as the D-segment car. The headlamps are very distinctive with their big C-shaped LED DRLs. The rear LED signatures match the front items for uniqueness – a long strip of LED extends far beyond the tail lamps to almost touch the central Renault logo, as seen on big brother Talisman.

Inside, the Megane follows Renault’s current style for its big cars like the Espace and Talisman, with the centre stack dominated by a large touch screen. With the “big iPad”, there aren’t many physical controls to speak off, and there’s an electronic parking brake to further clean things up. The instrument panel has a central rev meter with a digital speedo within.

GT cues seen here include the blue-backed logo on the steering’s bottom spoke, blue trim on the dashboard, Alcantara sport seats, blue stitching and power/torque bars in the meter panel.

What do you think of this French rival to the Volkswagen Golf, Ford Focus and Peugeot 308?

Never buy French except for bread and wines. Buy Toyota better, good RV.

As I always said, you will never go wrong with sushi cars.

    • I used to spend 120K for the Toyota. How much can you take for my Altis 1.8G (2013) now?

Hi John, good for you in buying a Toyota Altis. 2013 model still can be sold for at least 90k (given that your purchase price is 120k).

If you are like other dai lan ngongs who bought Cerato or Optima kimchis in 2013, it can’t even be traded in now. Check the calendar, it’s 2015, past two years. No more RV
