Nasim has donated a Peugeot 207 SV to Grace Community Services, which runs orphanages and provides food banks to the poor. The donation is part of Nasim’s collaboration with The Star for the publication’s Bid & Win Charity Series, which concluded recently.

The charity series – which also had UOB Malaysia as a partner – was an extension of the English daily’s Bid & Win promotion held last year in conjunction with its 40th anniversary, with the grand prize for that one being a Peugeot RCZ. Readers of The Star were required to submit Star Points to a list of charities that had been identified by the publication during the initial Bid & Win promotion.

Grace Community Services runs Rumah K.I.D.S, a home for orphans, abused and neglected children, as well as a centre in Kuala Lumpur that provides food, medical care and counseling to the poor, a nationwide food bank, a home for destitute women and welfare services for senior citizens.

Its chairman, Dr Henry Pillai, said the 207 SV would provide much needed transport for its administrative staff, who travel to Grace Community Services centres nationwide on a frequent basis.

“We have two orphanages in Klang and two in Subang. These orphanages have a total of 70 children. We also have a nationwide food bank which feeds 6,000 people every day. So our administrative staff need to travel often,” he said.

“As a responsible corporate citizen, Nasim is proud to be involved in this effort to offer a helping hand to the less fortunate. We believe this donation will provide Grace Community Services some assistance in carrying out its charitable activities,” said Nasim COO Datuk Samson Anand George.
