Goodyear’s Women with Drive Crime Prevention Workshop – all about basic auto care and staying safe

Goodyear Malaysia recently organised the Women with Drive Crime Prevention Workshop that taught ladies basic auto care knowledge and crime prevention tips.

“At Goodyear, safety is at the core of everything that we do. And safety in this instance extends to your car, including your tyres. Even with the safety features of your car, your tyres are critically important as they are the first and the only part of the vehicle that has contact with the road. Being prepared is the best policy when it comes to driving, which includes ensuring that your tyres are in good shape,” said Ivy Peng, MD of Goodyear Malaysia.

Emergency survival was the main highlight of the workshop, and Captain K. Bala, an emergency survival expert who has conducted workshops recognised by the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, imparted knowledge via his City Survival and React Crime Survival Programme.

“We often make a wrong move when faced with danger. Knowing what to do and how to do it right is what survival is all about. This workshop was developed based on case studies over the past 14 years in Malaysia – designed with easy steps to ensure you and your loved ones are safe in time of danger,” Bala said.

“The React programme complements Goodyear’s Women with Drive programme and objective – to equip women with basic auto care skills, allowing them to develop confidence and feel safe and secure in the face of any roadside predicament. This can be very useful; especially in preventing late night breakdowns, which increase the risk for opportunistic crime,” Peng added.

Remember to drive safe and stay alert, one can never be too careful these days – applies to everyone, including the guys!

Eh, we men need that too, not all crime victims are females and not all males are well versed with auto care..

Women are the cause of most accidents in Malaysia. That is a fact. Being too careful and driving too slow causes a lot of accidents. Better to give women some training in driving in this Crime Prevention workshop.
