Triple F1 world champ Sebastian Vettel turns 26 today, and to celebrate the occasion, his other employer Infiniti delivered a company car to the German. It’s a car that bears his name, the Infiniti FX Vettel Edition.
The limited edition performance SUV, developed with direct input from the champ himself, was delivered to his home in Switzerland. Vettel’s Vettel Edition is number 001 of the 150 that will be made. The SUV made its debut at last year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, driven up the famous hill by Vettel himself, of course.
“I’m proud to now own the Infiniti that I helped design. It has great performance, responsive handling and fits my daily life perfectly. The FX Vettel Edition is great fun to drive and I like that it is totally unique, I am sure many other Infiniti owners will feel the same way,” the birthday boy said.
This project marked the start of Seb’s increasing involvement in the development of Infiniti road cars that led to the appointment of him as the brand’s director of performance in April this year.
His role has since included development and comparative test drives as well as participation in engineering briefings, including direct driving input into the steering and braking performance of the new Infiniti Q50 saloon, the brand says. The Q50, a rival to the 3-Series and Lexus IS, rolled off the line in May and will be coming to Malaysia.

This luxury car still consider as datsun..opss..nissan or not?
The price also Infiniti when it comes to Malaysia..
Wow, Infinity’s guys manage to get the Sonata’s mould into their factory. Well done.
Infiniti will improve in the recent years but to be honest the Q50 looks a bit like a Cerato from the front view and for the rear view it looks like a Sontata.
oh..how i wish i got such a pressie for my bday!
Be an F1 champ dude. The all the pressie will line up for you. Cheers! :)
infiniti is a really premium car with likes of Lexus however whether it matches up to the German brands is a personal matter…I really think it’s a nicely designed car and trust it will be “a bit” better performing car then Korean lineups, unless it is up against a Hyundai Equus…more affordable version of the S-Class, 7-series and A8. I think this forum can be more positive. Keep up the good work Paul!
