The Hyundai Veloster Turbo has appeared on a Hyundai dealer or salesperson’s Facebook page with the caption “New Veloster 1.6 Turbo. Pls pm for more information.” This could hint at a launch that’s just around the corner.
UPDATE: The Hyundai Veloster Turbo is now open for booking ahead of its expected mid-April launch, with an indicative price of RM150,000 on-the-road, inclusive of GST but excluding insurance.
Or not. The turbocharged Veloster was first spotted at JPJ in October 2013, before it appeared at KLIMS 2013 for a public preview. At the motor show, we were told that the coupe with the unique door formation will launch in 2014. There was to be one more sighting after that before all news vanished. We’re well into 2015 now, and there’s no launch invite in our inbox yet. The car reached Thailand in April 2013.
If the image above is legit, we’re set to get the Veloster Turbo in mildly facelifted form. In Korea, the refreshed Veloster Turbo is powered by a 1.6 litre Turbo GDI engine with 204 hp and 270 Nm of torque, paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The same engine in the KLIMS showcar had 184 PS, 265 Nm and a six-speed torque converter automatic.

how long to wait for a turbo edition ? didnt have a 1st version in Malaysia, now rumor a facelift version… =.=
sam lor, where is ur toyota turbo coming to malaysia?
so..what happened to their previous comment about malaysia petrol quality not good enough, thus not offering the GDI engine on their lineup? guess that just an excuse to sell lower grade version of their cars here eh..
ewww ugly!!!
Most important thing is don’t buy Toyota.
Yes. A fierce looking car like that needs at least 200bhp.
and then?
This car has been “to be launched” for a good 2 years already. Since 2013 they have been saying that they want to launch it, but some acclimatisation and local tuning that met some hiccups stopped it from going forward.
But with a dual clutch transmission, from Hyundai, I’m not convinced. The Germans themselves can’t master it…
OMG. This one will not even be accepted by the scrap metal dealer. Too much plastic to remove and sheet metal is too thin
You can go To Hyundai Sime Darby Glenmarie Shah Alam to view the car.
