Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) has officially launched the Shell-Hyundai Helix HX 7 AH (semi-synthetic) and Shell-Hyundai Ultra AH (fully synthetic) engine oils, which are specially formulated for Hyundai vehicles. Additionally, it also introduced a new aftersales service programme, complete with a convenient mobile app.

The Shell-Hyundai engine oils are suitable for engines running on petrol, diesel, NGV, bio-diesel and ethanol blends. They also serve to optimise the performance of Hyundai engines by enhancing engine fuel economy and cooling performance, ensuring lubricity at extreme temperatures, plus offer oxidation protection.

The engine oils will be introduced in stages to all Hyundai authorised service centres in the country, starting with Peninsular Malaysia in December 2015, and in East Malaysia beginning January 2016. Hyundai Motor Co. and Shell Lubricants recently renewed their agreement for the Dutch company to be the preferred aftermarket motor oil supplier for Hyundai vehicles worldwide.

The agreement was signed in early January 2015 and will be in effect for five years, where branded motor oils produced by Shell will be recommended in Hyundai workshops to customers in more than 70 countries worldwide, Malaysia included.

As for its aftersales services, HSDM also launched a revised periodic maintenance service schedule called the “Hyundai Care Programme,” which is claimed to offer a more cost effective and time-saving service. The programme will be applied to all vehicles purchase in 2016.

Within the Hyundai Care Programme, there are three packages – Care Basic, Care Advance and Care Advance Plus. The first package caters towards your run-of-the-mill servicing that includes the replacement of engine oil, oil filter and oil plug gasket.

Care Advance offers replacement of several other maintenance items such as the vehicle’s air filter, brake fluid, air-con filter, spark plug and coolant. Finally, Care Advance Plus caters to customers whose vehicles require major servicing.

As an extension of its aftersales initiative, HSDM also introduced the “My Hyundai Care App” – an iOS and Android-compatible mobile app that provides customers with the convenience of obtaining various services. The free app will be available for download beginning December 1, 2015. Among the app’s features include a service reminder via push notification, as well as making a service appointment with the option of selecting your preferred service centre.

The app even can even keep track of your Hyundai’s service history, and offers an SOS call function in times of emergency and to activate the 24/7 roadside assist. Customers can also stay up to date with the latest Hyundai models that will be launched, service campaign and promotions, plus technical service campaigns for relevant models.

at first i was thinking that Hyundai malaysia did this on its own effort. so 2 thumbs up.

later found the initiative made by HQ in s.korea. so only 1 thumb up.

but still a good move nevertheless. keep it up.

VW should have done the same.
