Toyota Japan has introduced a new variant for its 86 sports car with the GT Aero Package. Available in two grades – Aero Package and Aero Package FT, the enhancements made to the 86 are mainly focused on improving the car’s aero (obviously) and handling performance.
That means no bump in power for the 86’s FA20 2.0 litre flat-four engine, which still produces 200 PS and 205 Nm. A six-speed manual or automatic transmission directs the power to the rear wheels.
On the 86 GT Aero Package, the car gains a full bodykit with new front and rear bumper spoilers, a large rear spoiler, side skirts and even a floor under cover. Moving up to the Aero Package FT, the 86 gets even more goodies – 18-inch forged aluminium BBS wheels with Bridgestone Potenza S001 tyres, sport brake pads and Sachs dampers.
The Toyota 86 GT Aero Package is available in seven colours, with prices (including Japanese taxes) starting from 3,135,200 yen (RM115,954), all the way up to 3,672,673 yen (RM135,832).
