Similar to the announcement by UMW Toyota, Lexus Malaysia has also introduced a new five-year, unlimited mileage warranty for all its models sold in the country, effective April 1, 2016. The new warranty plans replaces the outgoing three-year/100,000 km term.
Lexus now has the same warranty period as BMW Malaysia, though the latter also offers a five-year/100,000 km free scheduled service package. Mercedes-Benz Malaysia gives a four-year, unlimited mileage warranty, while Audi Malaysia has a four-year/120,000 km coverage.
As expected, the vehicles must be serviced every 10,000 km or six months (whichever comes first) at authorised Lexus service centrec within the entire period to keep the warranty valid. The extended warranty is wholly undertaken by UMW Toyota Motor.
“Vehicles brought in by parallel importers may or may not have warranty offered. Therefore it is always better to buy vehicles that are imported by an authorised distributor such as UMW Toyota, where the vehicles are covered with a full five-year warranty, giving customers a piece of mind,” said Akio Takeyama, Deputy Chairman of UMW Toyota Motor.
Existing Lexus owners with vehicles currently covered by the previous three-year warranty can upgrade to the new five-year, unlimited mileage warranty with a one-time-charge, depending on the model. Customers who sign up will also receive a complimentary Lexus service package.
The offer to upgrade your existing warranty is only valid until September 30, 2016, so do contact your preferred Lexus showroom or service centre to get exact pricing of the warranty upgrade package.
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
Good, Lexus wake up already.
Now, try to lower down your car prices.
Lexus can give a 5 yer warranty but their car RV is the worst ever. I pity buyers of Lexus, they cry when they want to sell their cars cause they have to top up their loans by the tens of thousands.
I hope buyers here realise, Lexus is only for the Ultra rich. If you can see your car depreciate, then by all means go and buy it. Lexus cars depreciates so steeply, you are better off buying it 2 years old 2nd hand.
For example, brand new Lexus LS460L is about RM950k to RM1 million. But a 2011 Lexus LS460L is now going for RM100k. In 4 years, your car can drop from RM950k to RM100k. That is what I call KING of DEPRECIATION!
Go and buy a 2nd hand Lexus and don’t ever buy new Lexus. Furthermore, the buyers of LExus are super rich, they service their cars well and they change every part without any question. Buying a 4 year old Lexus is like buying a brand new car!
Your statement clearly signifies what state you are in life right now. Lexus aren’t suitable for those that actually do give a damm about RV, besides, if u really even care about RV, why touch the premium segments. If Lexus brings happiness to the driver, so be it
Your mentality just proved that Lexus aren’t suitable for you, thankfully ure not having a Lexus, if not its just a disgrace and shame to the brand. if u really can afford a Lexus, why bother RV?
Lexus – The most luxury car money can buy…. Mercedes salesman butt hurt??
Mesidis, the most prestigious car u cant top or upkit with other brands. The star on bonnet alredi worth more than Lexus engine.
Why buy an IS when you can get a 5er or an E class? Why buy an RX when you could get a Macan or GLE? Lexus prices only for people who think paying more means getting something better
I wonder how much is the one time charge for the extra 2 years. BMW is charging 9.6k for the extra 2 years but it also comes with free service which includes replacement for wipers and brake pads/discs.
hahaha, as long as UMW holding Toyota & Lexus,
they wont offer you “free” stuff. all amortized in your purchase cost.
Don’t forget, they just price hike. Exchange rate is damn good excuses for them to raise the price.
Now selling bad, just offer this “5 years warranty”.
Honestly, I can not see the UMW group sincerity give to their customer. Cheating! NO VSC, less bag!
Just Give cheap DVD and reverse camera!
