To commemorate 50 years of the Hethel factory, Lotus is introducing a limited Evora 400 Hethel Edition. The model here is labelled as the first in a series of special products and events that mark an important milestone in the company’s history.
Available in three exclusive colours; essex blue, motorsport black and racing green. Each Hethel Edition comes with an exclusive commemorative build plate along with lightweight silver forged aluminium wheels and contrasting brake calipers. Owners will have the choice of a black or red leather or Alcantara interior trim, depending on the body colour specified.
“The Evora 400 is the latest in a long line of world-beating sports and racing cars to have all been hand built in Hethel over the last 50 years. We are immensely proud to be part of the community and it is entirely fitting that this limited edition be dedicated to our home,” said Jean-Marc Gales, CEO of Group Lotus.
No changes have been done to the engine, so its mid-mounted, supercharged 3.5 litre V6 engine still produces 400 hp and 410 Nm of torque. A choice of a manual or automatic transmission can be had with the Hethel Edition. As a recap, the Evora 400 goes from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds.
Asking prices for the Evora 400 Hethel Edition vary throughout Europe. In the UK, it’s priced at £75,500 (RM440k), over in Germany, it goes for 100,500 euros (RM460k). Meanwhile, down in France it’s priced at 101,350 euros (RM464k) and in Italy, its tagged at 105,400 euros (RM483k).
Elsewhere, Lotus is said to be developing an entry-level Evora for the US. The model in question is expected to be motivated by a naturally-aspirated 3.5 litre V6 engine with approximately 276 hp.
