The third generation Toyota Alphard and its sibling the Toyota Vellfire has yet to be launched in Malaysia, but we already know what we’re going to be getting as UMW Toyota have released pricing and specifications for the MPVs ahead of the launch.
Today we can show you how the Malaysian spec cars are going to look like – well, 2 out of 3 specs anyway. UMW Toyota exhibited the Malaysian spec Toyota Alphard 3.5 and Toyota Vellfire 2.5 at their Mitsui Outlet Park showroom over the weekend so we took the opportunity to grab some photos.
Missing from these photos is the top of the range Alphard 3.5 Executive Lounge variant.
Toyota Alphard 3.5
The UMW Toyota Motor spec Toyota Alphard goes for RM419,900 on the road including GST and insurance. We’re getting the non-Aero body, but with Malaysian specs this is complemented by Aero wheels which are 18 inch in size (235/50R18 tyres), an inch bigger than the non-Aero wheels for JDM cars.
Exterior-wise, the Alphard gets auto levelling LED headlamps (with cornering lamps and LED DRLs), a rear spoiler with integrated LEDs, fog lamps (front and rear), sunroof and rear cabin moonroof.
On the inside, which is colour-coded in beige, you get 7 seats in a 2-2-3 configuration, with the middle row featuring captain seats with an Ottoman leg rest. The first row passenger seat gets an Ottoman leg rest as well. Both sliding doors are powered, and so is the boot.
Other interior kit includes a seven-inch DVD-AVN touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and eight speakers as well as a four-spoke, leather-wrapped, multifunction steering wheel, dressed in brown wood-grain. There’s also a 10.2 inch rear entertainment screen that folds down from the roof with a remote control and wireless headphones. The air conditioning system is triple-zone with separate blower and temp controls for the rear. It also has Panasonic’s nanoe ionisation technology.
The Alphard’s 3.5 litre V6 engine has 271 PS at 6,200 rpm and 340 Nm at 4,700 rpm. Power goes to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic gearbox with sequential shifter.
Toyota Vellfire 2.5
As for the Toyota Vellfire (RM355,000 OTR with insurance), it has a smaller engine – a 2.5 litre Dual VVT-i four-cylinder engine with 180 PS at 6,000 rpm and 235 Nm at 4,100 rpm. As for transmission, a CVT drives the front wheels.
Like the Alphard, it gets the non-Aero body but has its wheels upgraded an inch to 18 inch Aero wheels when compared to JDM spec. Exterior kit is the same as the Alphard – auto levelling LED headlamps (with cornering lamps and LED DRLs), a rear spoiler with integrated LEDs, fog lamps (front and rear), sunroof and moonroof.
Interior specs equipment is the same as well, but the Vellfire interior is finished in black instead (but with grey headliner), with black wood grain for the interior trim.
The Alphard 3.5 Executive Lounge (RM519,900 OTR with insurance) which is not shown here adds on equipment, as you’d expect. The seats are now lined in more premium semi-aniline leather, and this is available in either beige or black. Second-row seating is made up of VIP powered seats with a more elaborate Ottoman function as well as seat air-conditioning.
The Executive Lounge also features an upgraded eight-inch DVD-AVN infotainment unit with a 17-speaker JBL audio system, and other novelties include an electro multi-vision (EMV) display and a VIP wood-grain steering wheel.
All Alphard and Vellfire models get seven airbags (front, front side, curtain and driver knee), VSC, traction control, ABS, hill-start assist and parking sensors (front and rear). As for exterior colour options, Luxury White Pearl, White Pearl, Silver Metallic and Black are available for the Alphard, while the Vellfire can be had in Burning Black (deep purple), White Pearl, Silver Metallic and Black.
Of course, being sold by the official distributor here in Malaysia, the Malaysian spec Toyota Alphard and Vellfire come with a five year unlimited mileage warranty.
You can watch the product video which UMW Toyota published on their Facebook fan page last week for more about the Malaysian spec Toyota Alphard and Vellfire.

Toyota good RV! Buy this year Vellfire RM500K, trade in next year can sale at RM400K.. Good RV!
again Malaysians are being cheated again. As if RM420k is small money to everyone.
Pity Malaysians, always cheated.
Shame Toyota sleeping action, grey importor already selling the latest generation months ago while still not official launched here…
the alphard’s grill is fugly.
Lekk..aq sorg je ke yg da nmpk alphard dgn vellfire ni kt jln rye…
rather have the aero kit than the rims
They need to issue out IQ & EQ tests to drivers before allowing them to drive these things one the road. They are a hazard on pubic roads as numbskulls with fat in their wallet seem to be full of fat in the head too thinking their money is worth more hence they deserve more hence they drive however they feel like. They horde the road, they do not know that there are indicator lights on these overpriced shopping carts, they are sometimes driven like rocket powered bullock carts flashing their headlights a few galaxies away.
Not only All-fart drivers, should include those SUV, pick-up truck as well as Myvi drivers.
Yuck to Alphard face…
Very ugly
Dislike the mid row captain seats design, how to shake the car in jungle like that?? skip!
most of the features mentioned in the vid can be found in <RM200k cars, UMW is only selling the size and the old engine
I can’t believe people pay this kind of money for a mini bus with added bling. This kind of money puts you into any X5, Q7, X90, GLE
ugh..
Aiyoyo UMW, where is autonomous breaking, blind-spot monitoring etc? You think the ultra rich couldn’t afford these safety equipment? UMW sudah makan ka?
Why do you want to break the vehicle?
Seems not so many smart peole buy this van. They did not know what is blind spot sensor or anything about auto brake and for sure they did not know the braking distance of these huge van. If they know they will not drive so fast like sport car. Not to mention there is honda oddessey that offer similiar spec with half the price and just little smaller.
I’m wondering how many units of the officially imported previous generation were they able to move off the showroom floors? Anyone? Sam Loo?
The Mercedes V class is so much better looking, inside, outside, … Especially the interior of this looks cheap and outdated.
These are cars for drivers… to drive their bosses around. After sending their bosses to their company, they lepak in mamak. Mostly register under company. The boss himself drives something more $$$ than this car.
Pity vellfire such a big car only got 235nm to spend. So those drive this in highway please drive like pussy. Dont act like driving a sport car.
Kia Sedona where are you?!? Save us please!!!
After all of this and that, it’s still a TOYOTA. It’s still a normal civilian car, 300k++??? It’s a no tho, I get myself a Merc instead
Looks intimidating, in fact together with some pick-up truck drivers, they do intimidate other road users. Which is ironic because they’re supposed to be people/family carriers. Very pricey though.
just like a very expensive brick….with chrome parts…..
I guess money cant buy good taste sometimes…..
wow.. cantiknya van ni. harga pun berpatutan. ahli2 parlimen be it dari BN ataupun Pakatan Pembangkang pasti suka. Ejen insuran pun suka. Kaki MLM pasti lagi suka. kalau tak percaya, mari like Alphard Vellfire Owner Club Malaysia.
DOA.. only stupid people buy this for 500K.
To UMW – Alphard / Vellfire is not a premium vehicle so stop act like it is one. Seriously people will not pay 500k for this “Modified” Toyota Hiace.
Sadly. Some still paid for the junk
Does it offer “Bird View” camera? Because for such a big car, this function is very useful.
Volvo XC90 > all.
It’s the World’s Safest Car. Much cheaper than Alphard, much better fc with that T8 twin engine Drive-E powertrain. More comfortable, more powerful. 5 years warranty and on-call service, good peace of mind.
Wah the Alphard grill. if you don’t tell me it is Alphard I would have thought this is a China made car. Grill like China. Half worm tail lights? Yooooo what happen to the designers???
Ouch.. really.. who the hell is the designer for the Alphard? Hannibal Lectur??
Bas sekolah for bolasepak moms…next!
Wrong price

The new Alphard and Vellfire has been in Thailand for more than 9 months.
The massive nose looks intrusive at first, but after a few months of soaking, this beast is massively macho.
Just a matter of time Malaysian roads are full of these staple sushi MPVs when the 2 year old Japanses recond model comes in
