The recently concluded EICMA show in Milan, Italy, saw the 2017 Ducati Supersport being crowned as “most beautiful bike of the show” by fans. In a contest by Italian magazine Motociclismo, fans participated in a survey to vote for the most beautiful motorcycle at the show, along with a chance to win the actual machine.

Over 12,000 visitors to the show voted in the survey, and received 31.4 percent of the votes. The Ducati Supersport garnered 13.2 percent more votes than the second placed bike.

First shown at the Intermot show in Germany, the 2017 Supersport is equipped with a 937 cc 11-degree V-twin that puts out 113 hp at 9,000 rpm and 96.7 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. Fuelling is by Continental EFI, feeding twin Mikuni 53 mm throttle bodies with ride-by-wire.

The Supersport comes with ride and power modes, as well as the Ducati Safety Pack which provides ABS and Ducati Traction Control (DTC). Weighing in at 210 kg wet, the Supersport comes in two versions – the base version uses Marzocchi forks and Sachs rear absorber, while the ‘S’ model comes with Ohlins suspension front and rear and a quickshifter.

Designed for the rider who wants a sports motorcycle without the back-breaking racing position, the Supersport also features a height-adjustable wind screen. In addition to the 2017 Ducati Supersport, other new Ducati models on display at EICMA were the 1299 Superleggera, Monster 797 and 1200, Multistrada 950 and the Scrambler Desert Sled and Cafe Racer.
