New TVR sports car teased again before official debut

TVR has released yet another teaser of its upcoming sports car, likely the final one before the vehicle is revealed at Goodwood Revival this coming weekend. The debut of the show car also coincides with the brand’s 70th anniversary this year.

The image presented here shows the new car parked next to an early TVR (this writer thinks it’s a Vixen). You can see the sculpted front end is pretty much similar to what we’ve seen in an earlier video, with well-defined inlets and a large “smiling” intake. We do get to see a bit more of the car’s headlights, which feature LED light bars for daytime running lights.

So far, we already know the new TVR will use Gordon Murray Design’s iStream Carbon manufacturing process, which includes carbon-fibre (or glass-reinforced plastic) panels fused to a tubular steel frame.

The sports car will also employ a Cosworth-developed 5.0 litre V8, which will be paired with a manual transmission. Autocar UK reports the gearbox is a six-speed Magnum XL unit supplied by Tremec, with drive going to the rear wheels.

Those wheels measure 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear, plus the car will come with a fully-functional aerodynamic package and adjustable suspension. What is still unknown is how much power the engine outputs or what the performance figures are, and more importantly, its name.
