Motorists who utilise the Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH) on a regular basis, take note – parts of the 7.7 km-long highway will be closed from September 22 to November 15 for the Sungai Bunus Flood Mitigation Plan (RTB) project being carried out by the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID), Bernama reports.
During the stated period, the highway will be totally closed from Friday until Monday from 11 pm until 4 am, while temporary closures will occur from Monday until Friday from 10 am until 3 pm daily, the DID said via a statement.
The lanes affected by the closure are the AKLEH exit to Jalan Tun Razak and from Jalan Tun Razak into the highway. Motorists are advised to plan their journeys and use alternative routes to avoid getting caught in the traffic congestion that is expected to occur as a result of the planned closures.

luckily i didn’t stay there and it is not affecting me.
What an insensitive comment. Every Malaysian for himself huh?
side story on akleh, pls just pls reserve one lane for motorbike exclusively. as of now the bike buzzing left right and middle of the highway with high speed disregard all other vehicles that actually paying the tol. now akleh have 3-4lanes on certain stretch, just donate one lane for bikers so that other paying vehicles can drive stress free to work daily…
Just ban all motorcycles like before. The road is too narrow to have motorcycles weaving left and right on all the lanes.
Reserving one lane for them doesn’t even make sense as they don’t pay toll and even if you reserved one they will still utilise all the lanes on the road just like what they’re doing now.
it was one of the “sugar” given by govt to gain vote last time, so i dont think they will revert back to car only highway….i’d rather have a 2 lane highway with no motorbike weaving left and right than a 4 lane highway that has a motorbike all over the place.
sounds like the Federal Highway now from Shah Alam to KL. Motor lane got no flood and no works done and our bikes go left and right especially on our fast lane.
I think our polis tidur. Cause that day I saw biker wave at polis car on fast lane cause polis car going to slow.
Proof or ur just lying. I travel FH everyday, and never seen motors travel fast lane.
The AKLEH was first design for non bikers. I remember those time clearly a big no entry sign for motorcycle. But thanks to our ‘generous’ Pak Lah at the time he held the helm, petrol get a RM2.70 price tag thanks to his son in law words in PAU at PWTC, the G then allow motorcycle to use AKLEH. So that’s why the lane itself is not safe for motorcyclist, and without safety concern at all they are zig zagging around. As far as I can remember, the no accident record on AKLEH has been smashed every time by motorcyclist.
can provide map which part of the road will be close?
Yup, quite a poor announcement without clearly (ie. graphically) showing the affected areas of the highway
The temporary closure/totally closed timings take a bit of reading into to understand – can be clearer
So weekends it’s closed 11pm-4am, weekdays 10am-3pm. Why is it not the other way round? Are there more cars using the roads on weekdays between 10am-3pm or 11pm-4am. Apa punya…..
