VIDEO: 2019 Hyundai Veloster teased with LED show

Hyundai has released another teaser of the 2019 Veloster, which appears to be inspired by the Lexus LIT IS. In the 20-second clip, we get a good look at the coupe’s profile before an array of LEDs on the car’s body puts on a show for us.

Aside from the theatrics, the teaser doesn’t reveal a whole lot more than what we’ve seen in previous spyshots. Visually, the car retains its asymmetrical door configuration – two doors on one side and one on the other – along with other evolutionary changes.

From the side, we can see a larger glass section compared to the outgoing model, which should help improve outward visibility. The front end also gets a big hexagonal grille up, coupled with smaller and sharper headlights.

As for the rear, the triple-element tailgate adopts a more reserved design to go along with the sleeker look of the taillights. Further down, the diffuser and centre-mounted dual exhaust tips are retained, although they have been tweaked as well.

The new Veloster is expected to be powered by the brand’s Gamma T-GDi turbocharged engines, paired with a dual-clutch automatic gearbox or six-speed manual. It is also rumoured that a high-performance version might be in the making, parked under the Hyundai’s N sub-brand, like the i30 N.

What a great car from Hyundai. No wonder they can sell 8 million cars globally.

Amazing, only 10 years older than Proton but come out with such high demand cars.

    • Wow. Never knew P1 existed when country got Merdeka. P1 must have been a British brand then.

    • The only difference between P1 and Hyundai-kia is that Malaysian peoples seems like very unsupportive, skeptical to national brand.. In Korea, Hyundai-kia extremely dominated domestic market. In 2016, combination of Hyundai-kia sales alone is nearly 1.2 million, while imported car sold less then 200k mark!! They don’t buy imported brand a lot.. This figure was consistently achived from the begining of local brand establishment back in late 60s.. that is why some people says, korean car brand is a racist..

In comparison, only less then 100k P1 sold (2016) in their homeland.. and ironically, 300k imported brand sold in Malaysia during that time out of 600k passanger car..

Looks like the old megane side profile… which is a good thing since the new magane kinda kills itself.
Can’t wait to see the real car.
