This is the Cupra e-Racer, a new race car from Seat’s newly-formed sub-brand, which is set to debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. The company is calling it “the first 100% electric racing touring car in the world,” and there are some mean specs attached to it.
The race car is capable of delivering 300 kW (402 hp) of continuous power, with a peak output of 500 kW (670 hp). Design-wise, it is based on the Cupra Leon TCR race car but with revisions made to reflect its zero-emissions nature.
For now, the company hasn’t revealed if it plans to launch a new one-make race series featuring the e-Racer. If it does an “E TCR” series might be similar to what Jaguar is doing with its I-Pace.
The e-Racer will share the stage with the rest of the Cupra posse, including the Cupra Ateca as well as the Arona and Ibiza concepts. Seat will also be present to show its new Leon Cupra R ST and Shazam integration in its cars.
