Vespa limited edition scooters in Malaysia – Vespa 946 (RED), Sprint Carbon and Sei Giorni, from RM17,400

Vespa limited edition scooters in Malaysia – Vespa 946 (RED), Sprint Carbon and Sei Giorni, from RM17,400

Distributor of renowned Italian brand Vespa in Malaysia, Naza Premira, has introduced three limited edition scooters – the 2018 Vespa 946 (RED), Vespa Sprint Carbon and Vespa Sei Giorni. Pricing for the lifestyle scooters are RM66,000 for the 946 RED, RM17,400 for the Sprint Carbon and RM38,000 for the Sei Giorni.

Created as a project for (RED), the global fund to fight HIV/AIDS, the 946 (RED) carries a 125 cc, three-valve, single-cylinder engine that drives a CVT gearbox. Every sale of a 946 (RED) triggers a donation of 150 USD (RM620) to (RED) which buys 500 days of medication for a HIV/AIDS victim.

Dressed in a shade of red unique to this model, the 946 (RED), like its sibling the 2016 Vespa 946 Emporio Armani, comes with steel bodywork, complemented aluminium components such as the mudguard and side covers. LED lighting is used throughout and a full LCD instrument panel can be found inside the cockpit.

Targeted at the youth market is the Sprint Carbon, powered by Vespa’s i-Get 150 cc air-cooled single-cylinder mill that produces 13.9 hp at 6,000 rpm. Coming in matte black paint with red accents, the Sprint Carbon comes with a rectangular headlight and rolls on the 12-inch aluminium alloy wheels.

Commemorating the Sei Giorni or Six Days race held in 1951 in Varese, Italy, the Sei Giorni carries a 300 cc engine that produces a claimed 21 hp at 7,750 rpm and 22 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. Painted in Verde Matt (Matte Green), the Sei Giorni is styled like the Vespa racing scooters of the the 50s, with the headlamp mounted on the front mudguard and and a small flyscreen mounted on the handlebars.

The seat on the Sei Giorni is styled to resemble the single seat of a racing scooter and vent cutouts in the front fairing as well as the exposed round-tube handlebar reflect this scooter’s racing heritage. All three Vespa scooters come with ABS on the front and rear hydraulic disc brakes and are available for viewing at selected authorised Vespa dealerships and outlets in Malaysia.

Something must be very wrong with our Ringgit because in other countries a Vespa is so affordable and cheap. Infact it is known as orang biasa mode of transport.

In Malaysia, RM17,400 is a lot of money to many people, even for the rich.

Hopefully with good governance and non corruption, our Ringgit will go higher and our GDP per Capita also will go higher and one day, buying this Vespa will be kacang puteh for everybody in Malaysia

When RM was last at 4.20, oil was bottoming at USD$30 per barrel. Now with oil at USD$70 per barrel, RM should have been under the 4.00 threshold. Something is seriously wrong with the current government, with rapid corruption and missmanagement plus the return of cronyism already settling in so soon after they took over.

Too much of corruption the current Government must undo from the previous Government. RM1 trillion in debt also

When the previous Government left us, we were at 3.85 to the USD. Now we’re at 4.15 heading to 4.20, effectively losing 9%. We were at that level 2 years ago, and it took us 2 years to gain back that 9% and without the reliance on oil pricing. What has PH done to stem the losses? NOTHING! If oil prices were to drop again, we’re FINISHED!

If you cannot steer the country and its economy right, then give it back to the Government that knows how to do it RIGHT!

Nothing to do with the previous Government but the follies of PH! The currency lost 9% all thanks to their imbecility.

Malaysia could have been first world about 10 years ago with our GDP same as Singapore ie about USD48k per annum average

But because of corruption by our Previous Government, our GDP now is 5X less than Singapore

The commentator said Singapore can afford this easily. He did not say it is sold in Singapore. As you know, Iskandar and Forest City got 90% Singaporeans who stay in Malaysia. So, they buy this in MAlaysia

Not sold in Singapore but bought by Singapore? Brother, do you even know how to buy/sell cars here? A foreign citizen can’t buy local cars unless they have PR, and not many Singaporeans have Malaysian PR.

Furthermore you refer to Forest City and AFAIK it’s still UNDER CONSTRUCTION. I transport building materials to there, so I know. From this, I know from you’re lying right there and then.

          Enough with the lies lah….

whether is hot or not does not matter. Singaporeans find the Vespa cheap.

No logic to your arguement. Sales figures do not dictate whether one finds if cheap or pricey

FYI by the time you read this article, all limited editions were told that they are all sold before thispress released…
Why bother to release this information if the public Vespa fans cannot buy them at all?
Please update us with the new Vespa models which are available and really ready for sale in Malaysia.

    Thank you?

Many people did not know or don’t remember that NAZA got National Car status under the previous Govt (which is also the current Govt!) So to say that the Govt is thinking of having a 3rd National car is incorrect. The fourth National Car was INOKOM. So the next National Car, if given the green light, would rightly be the FIFTH National Car, not the third!
BTW the price of the Vespas are way overpriced.

If you’re into it, please do consider the spare part price that most workshop owner tend to play around. Take for example the head cover-set, most shop (KL, Selangor including famous ones) i ask sold them around RM600 – RM800 even for 2nd hand. The real MSRP for those is around RM160 – RM200 and it take time to order if they have the stock. Most of the part are markup and i give up on it after 3 year of owning it.
