Proton launches six new 3S/4S centres in September – automaker’s 109 outlet target by Oct remains on track

Proton has announced the launch of six new or upgraded 3S/4S centres this month as part of its massive sales and service network revamp. The move also sees dealerships switching to the automaker’s new corporate identity (CI), which incorporates a light blue colour scheme.

As of the end of August, the automaker said it had achieved 92% of its planned target of upgrading its network to 3S/4S status for the year, with the number of centres in the revamped network now at 100. It added that it remains on track to meet its planned 109 outlet target by October.

The first of six new centres announced this month is Top Zone Auto Gallery, which is located in Sungai Dua, Butterworth. The 2S facility has been upgraded to a 3S centre at a cost of RM1.5 million. The outlet has five service bays and five hoists as well as a waiting area that can seat 15 people. Facilities include an internet corner and free wifi.

The second is a 3S centre located in Puchong, Selangor. Operated by Atiara Johan, the new facility replaces a 1S showroom that was previously operating in Pandan Indah, Kuala Lumpur. The new outlet, which has a built-up area of 1,700 sq metres, has a service centre with 14 bays and 12 hoists.

Outlet number three is that run by KH Motor. Located in Kota Samarahan in Sarawak, almost RM1 million has been invested into upgrading the 3S outlet to reflect the automaker’s new CI. The dealership, which has six service bays and five hoists, has also expanded its sales and service staff count in anticipation of increased sales and volume throughput in the near future.

The next facility is a 4S centre in Sungai Petani, Kedah, run by Mercu Usaha Mesra. The renovation to the new CI requirements has added new features and space to the outlet – the 2,869 sq metre facility now has a showroom floor capable of displaying 10 cars, up from seven previously. It has also increased its after-sales service capability, adding two more service bays to 14 and four more hoists to 11 in total with the upgrade.

Another 3S outlet in the north renovated to meet Proton’s new CI is that of Lee Motors in Alor Setar, Kedah. The facility, which has a built-up area of 1,060 sq metres, includes features such as a coffee area and free Wifi for waiting customers. Its service section currently has four service bays, with additional area for expansion if the need arises.

The last of the six is new outlets announced this month is the SAG Wira facility in Klang, Selangor. The existing 3S outlet has been fully revamped to new requirements, and adds on extra facilities such as a delivery bay and a discussion room area. The service area is equipped with seven bays and five hoists, and the company also has an existing body and paint centre, situated at Kampung Batu Belah, Klang.

  • Gud effort by P1 and all the dealers involved but another 9 more to go within 1 week is impossible. Maybe next month can achieve it. It does show that P1, Geely, and the dealers r serious about this turnaround and the eminent excitement for X70. March forth and success will be urs!

P1, Geely, Mesidis, VolvoCar, VolvoTrucks, Lotus > all

You can take the boy out from a kampung, but you cannot take the kampung out from the boy. No matter how grand the showroom maybe … It’s a Proton mentality

Many things mentioned in this news had been done by either Toyota some other brands. Why proton didn’t want to copy them in the first place was a little shocking. Only after visiting Geely showrooms in China? And proton was ranked lowest again in 2018 customer satisfaction index by JD power malaysia. This is not good at all. Very poor.

    • Lowest only by 4points out of 700. Thats like a diff of 0.5%. An inconsequential deviation. If P1 challenged that results, they cud probably gain 5 points which pushes P2 dead last.

The question Dr.Li should ask” will an upgraded showroom bring in volume sales by only banging on the X70 SUV?” At RM 100k approximately, not many fanboys can qualify for bank loans. The other Jurassic products viz Suprima,Exora,Iriz r due for replacement.DRB still losing money badly last quarter,so how long can it go on?The turnaround for Proton will be in 2020 or even later
