Introduced by Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) alongside the facelifted Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 200 Avantgarde and C 300 AMG Line variants today is the refreshed W205 Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic sedan, which rolls in to replace the pre-facelift that was introduced here last year.
Like its regulation siblings, the AMG version gets visual enhancements as well as new kit, and here, the existing engine has also been updated to offer more output. Styling-wise, the refresh updates the looks with the inclusion of a twin-louvre AMG grille and additional flics on the front apron, while the rear end features a more prominent diffuser and circular exhaust pipes.
Dressed with an AMG Line exterior, the local variant features Multibeam LED headlights with adaptive high beam assist plus, an AMG spoiler lip and an AMG sport exhaust system. It rides on 19-inch twin-spoke AMG alloy wheels, which are wrapped with 225/40 front and 255/35 rear profile tyres.
Inside, the revised C 43 comes with the same 12.3-inch all-digital instrument cluster display as that found on the standard C-Class as well as a choice of three display styles, though in this case the Classic, Sport and Supersport layouts are AMG-specific. It can also be customised to show specific functions such as engine data, g-force and a race timer.
The size of the central media display has also been upped, now a 10.25-inch unit. In terms of infotainment, the AMG variant gets a COMAND Online system in place of the Audio 20 GPS seen on the C 200 and C 300 versions, with a Burmester sound system in tow.
The presence of COMAND also brings about an AMG Track Pace feature, which allows owners to gather relevant track-driving data. And, like the standard C-Class, there’s full smartphone integration here, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.
Moving inside, the local car gets a black interior and AMG matte silver fibreglass trim as part of its AMG Line interior pack, and the dashboard and belt lines are finished in Artico leather. Elsewhere, there’s a new-style flat-bottomed AMG performance steering wheel finished in Dinamica microfibre, and red designo seat belts are also to be found.
Standard equipment includes Thermotronic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, Keyless Go, a remote bootlid closing fucntion, 360-degree surround view camera, a Tirefit system as well as active lane keeping assist and blind spot assist. Safety kit includes seven airbags and automatic emergency braking as standard across the local C-Class range.
Tweaks to the M276 3.0 litre twin-turbo V6 has resulted in a hike in power to 385 hp at 6,100 rpm, which is 23 hp more than before. Maximum torque remains at 520 Nm, but the peak is now available from 2,500 to 5,000 rpm (previously, 2,000 to 4,000 rpm).
Paired with a nine-speed AMG Speedshift TCT 9G automatic transmission, along with an AMG Performance 4Matic all-wheel drive system in tow, the C 43 sedan needs only 4.7 seconds to do the 0-100 km/h sprint – top speed remains electronically limited at 250 km/h.
The previously seen AMG Ride Control adaptive damping continues on, with no changes to rates, though there’s now an additional mode for the AMG Dynamic Select system, which tailors engine, transmission and steering response. Slippery joins the existing Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Individual to make it five.
The facelifted Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic is locally-assembled and is priced at RM421,888 on-the-road without insurance. Financing options are available for the facelifted C-Class range, Flex-C offering a variety of packages, with monthly prices starting from RM2,688 (based on a three-year tenure and downpayment of 22% for the C 200 Avantgarde). Until December 31, all Flex-C financing contracts will include a complimentary first year tyre and rim insurance package.

Notice 1 out of 3 Benz hav same 126 plate no. Maybe rich ppl minds think alike.
126 is insurance agent group la
Too bad not many people are getting this. So far I’ve only seen one on the road. Really rare spawn….like the Volvos.
Twice the price yet none MBUX. Many rather buy A Class sedan …
for most people, 420k can buy an e class, 5 series, S90 or even XC90. Its a better upgrade in terms of practicality and size. Only the rare numbers of car enthusiast buy C43 for its engine and performance. Hence, low sales.
Most AMG enthusiasts are wondering whether this new CKD comes with sports exhaust or not. If anyone is going to spend on an AMG, it better come with sports exhaust.
It comes with the AMG exhaust but not AMG Performance Seats. The performance seats make the interior feel really special.
126 means managed to earn a living (in Cantonese).
